We have organised an end of season 65 race against GPL Racer. The idea is to allow ALL drivers of mixed abilities the chance to race. There will be two grids containing the current Amateurs and Novices respectively – GPL Racer will allocate via a similar method so we should end up with an even balance.
Let's have a generous reception for the drivers from GPL Racer. GPLR's race thread is located at http://forum.gplracer.eu/topic.php?id=630&

Please be in IGOR UKGPL chatroom passworded 'Savage' by 19:55GMT, (You will need to set up a channel called ukgpl if you haven't already done so)
IGOR and Race passwords: provided prior to race

Servers : TBC
IP addresses: TBC
 
Race date = 21-07-2009
Track = East London
Time = 19:30GMT / 20:30 BST (note earlier start time)
Variant = 65F1 (using the updated 65 Mod)
Damage Model = PRO
Qually time = 30 minutes (server will start at 35 mins)
Race length = 35 laps (extra points for finishers)

Chassis assignments per grid:
2 * FERRARI
2 * LOTUS
1 * BRM
1 * BT11
1 * HONDA
1 * COOPER
1 * BT7

Points Scoring (per grid);
Standard Points Positions 1-19:

30 - 25 - 21 - 18 - 16 - 14 - 13 - 12 - 11 - 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1
Drivers MUST complete 60% of race distance (21 laps) to score points

Extra Points:
-------------
3 Extra Points for each driver who can finish the race (being lapped still counts)
10 Team Points for the whole Team (GPLRACER / UKGPL), if all drivers of the team cross the finish line.

The results of both grids will be combined to produce the overall winners.

We will be making the chassis allocations so please ONLY sign up if you are prepared to drive any of the above (also see note below). I don’t want to get bogged down in who gets what across two grids (would feel too much like work and not fun  Wink). I will do my best to give you a favourite and you’ll be welcome to play swapsies with each other once allocated.

We are hopeful we will be oversubscribed on the basis all are welcome. This being the case we will pick the drivers by lottery.  IF we are oversubscribed, and GPL Racer fall short, we would let them have our overflow.

Please note: This is being posted early due to the extra organisation required but don’t forget there are still 2 Interleague races on 28/6 and 12/7. This race is a one-off and won’t form part of the Interleague championship.

Please POST HERE if you are interested in racing. If there is a particular chassis you do NOT want let us know. Closing date for entries is 7 July 2009.
