Would like to gauge if there is any interest in running some races on a Sunday evening for drivers who don't compete in the Interleague series. For me the alternate Sundays to the Graduates Cup races are a free evening and I need an alternative to talking to the wife.
If this proves popular I can ask UKGPL to adopt as a full series next season. Having bounced some ideas around with a few people on chat I've come up with the following format. Its called the Sunday Night Spec Challenge & the idea is to test different chassis against each other. Kick off at 9pm, every 2nd Sunday - alternate fortnight to Graduates Cup races. The event will comprise of two short races on the same track - back to back same evening. As far as the drivers are concerned jut treat it as a normal race - get your best qualifying time and race to the finish. Qualifying probably 30 minutes for race 1 and 20 minutes for race 2. The Spec Challenge comes in here - for each race there are a choice of two cars. You pick one for the first race then switch to the other for the second race. Race results will get published on a race thread. I'll then do some detailed analysis to determine which is the faster car. (Record each drivers fastest race lap & tot them up with a calculator. For me that's detailed- almost scientific). The result gives an indication of the cars relative performance under race conditions. If this continues as a proper series there can be a separate drivers championship. Shift R will be allowed - no Stop & Go penalties. This isn't licence to drive like an idiot but the idea is to get every driver a good opportunity to record a decent lap. Car pairings will be matched relatively closely - Lotus v Ferrari & Cooper v BT7 etc. For now it will be a 65 Mod event. Selection of tracks - appreciating people will have busy schedules the tracks will be old stalwarts that won't take much learning. Likely to include some of the standard tracks that have been rotated off the Season 18 list like Rouen, Mosport & Mexico. For starters was thinking about something simple, but with an edge. Double Header of England versus Italy - BRM to take on Ferrari on their home turf at Monza. Return leg two weeks later the Fezza will be away to Silverstone to take on the Lotus. First date could be 22nd November - will have to sort out a server / host from home PC.
Any interest / feedback would be appreciated.

Welcome to my world Seriously, I would love to race on Sunday; I am barely able to make the Tuesday show as it is due to being 5 hours behind you guys, and I need all the practice I can get. Maybe we could throw Avus in there just to mix it up.. Mark

Sounds good, i often have a Sunday evening free so would be interested.
I reckon my Mountside Team Mate NHance would be up for this too to satisfy his yearning for racing Mosport Online this year.

About time someone come up with someone think people have been put off with 1 racing day per 2weeks. Instead of once a week.
After this weekend im pretty much feel all weekends.

I'll give it a go please as long as it's 65's as I find the faster ones "do me 'ead in" (seriously). A chance to race with my team mate again is too good to miss. That & Mosport - well it's GPL heaven!

Looks like there is enough interest to give this a try.
Need to sort out how to host - got some temporary glitches with the PC.
Opening event should be 22/11 - will confirm nearer the time.

Sounds good. Be nice to take on some of the tracks for the 65 series in GPL Rank if they can be accommodated
