As usual for 65s we are again allocating drivers with a chassis to use throughout the season. The only permitted changes will be those agreed by the moderator. We want to promote good close racing and an exciting Championship so anybody either running away with it or falling behind will be considered for a change of chassis either up or down.

To give drivers some free choice in the chassis they drive for the season we have split the cars into groups based on average performance and split the drivers into groups based on average ability. The chassis numbers for Amateurs are as follows:

AMATEUR CHASSIS GROUPS
1 - Lotus, Ferrari
2 - BRM, Honda
3 - BT11
4 - Cooper
5 - BT7

Each driver has been given a seeding number and must pick a chassis with either an equal number or higher number but not a lower number. For example, if a driver is given a seeding of 2, he must pick one of the cars in group 2 (BRM or Honda) but if he would prefer to drive either the BT11, Cooper or BT7 he may do so. This means that a driver given a seeding of 1 can pick any chassis he prefers.

**NOTE**
Whichever chassis a driver begins race 1 with is the chassis he must use for the remainder of the season unless a change has been agreed with the moderator.

The driver seedings are as follows:

AMATEUR DRIVERS AND GROUPS
RESERVES
5 Hristo
1 Bartosz
1 Asbjeurn
1 Ruud

FULL TIME
1 Phil
3 EvilClive
1 Bernie
3 John Roberts
3 FullMetal
1 b_1_rd
4 turkeymachine
3 policardi
2 al heller
1 Nicky
1 clutch
2 kinghiro
2 g jonsson
2 Jimmy Rye

2 natan (needs to vote in the poll)

If you have any questions about the allocations please post them here rather than in the division registration thread.

Thank you.

IMO, you're too fast for the BRM and so is Nicky for Lotus/Ferrari BTW.  Roll Eyes

You both are definitely not slower than those assigned to BT11s.

Not really, BRM is still too fast for you IMO, but let's see what the mods decide. I find your reason weird though; it has 6 gears, sure, but it's 10x faster than the Cooper.

Too fast! What a compliment. Only 1 win last season in Amateurs though.  Grin

I will happily drive a BT11 or whatever I am told to.

While that may be true (probably is based on what I remember) consistency and final placings in the championship will be what merited the dishonor of green upon the waza's, and what has given the round-eye drivers an open field to choose from  Grin

Although I'm wondering if I'll even get to drive a waza this season, as I intend to actually use my tokens this time round in Grads....

Evening All

Well, i've been a BT11 Man for a couple of seasons, and though i said i'd stick with it in the registration thread, given the choice on offer above, any chance i can take the Ferrari for a season?

Can't say i'm any better in it than with my trusted BT11, but it'd be a change, and i like the sound of the thing, so plodding round at the back will at least be pleasing on the ears.  Wink

Let me know, and i'll start cobbling together a couple of set-ups for the coming season.

Cheers

Let me just re-iterate, all drivers have the freedom to drive whatever chassis their rank above will allow.

e.g. Clutch has been given a rank of 1 which means he can drive any chassis in group 1 or higher, effectively any chassis.

John Roberts has been given a rank of 3 so he must drive a chassis in Group 3 which is the BT11, however, as he is allowed to drive a car in a higher group, if he would prefer the Cooper or BT7 he could drive one of them, but he would not be allowed either the BRM or Honda as they are in Group 2 or the Lotus or Ferrari as they are in Group 1.

Bear in mind if you start race 1 in a Ferrari you are stuck with it barring a moderator agreed change.
