Well that was awesome fun in both races.

Apologies to Natan for the accident on L1 of R1, my lack of experience towing caught me out a bit there. After that I had a great battle with Nicky who is an expert at placing his car in the middle of the road and leaving me a tricky choice of which side to go. Several times I got alongside but it was only a mistake in the end that let me past him. Thanks Nicky for some good clean racing.

In R2 Nicky fell off early leaving me to battle with Martin. This was a great scrap too albeit with a few more errors from us both. I'd got in front when I disco'ed on the penultimate lap, shame as I was on for a decent finish behind Steve, as leading novice.

Anyway well done to Tim up front for the two wins and to Steve for being champ of the Heavies, amazing consistency Mr Bird Smiley

I had no Internet so I couldn't enter this one. Looks like we'll have to battle it out with Tim in the last race!

You'll have to do badly to loose H, I'm an additional 66 points down due to the dropped races.
In theory I can still win, but it's unlikely unless you miss the next race aswell  Grin

If you're sure about that, I could miss one of the races and make it go really down to the wire.  Grin

Then again, you won the AMs again, so maybe not.  Tongue

Been trying to get up to speed on this track again using the BRM . The best lap I can muster is in low 2m 04's bracket which considering the track is mostly motorway driving doesnt make sense  Embarrassed

God knows where you guys get the speed from  Roll Eyes

If we are talking about laps without slipstream assistance Bernie, I find that the speed out of T1 and speed carried through T2 ( between the 2 long straights has a huge effect on lap times  ( well a couple of secs if you get it absolutely right).

Also don't underestimate the time spent in the "stadium" section. There is always time to be gained in slow corners if you make it neat and tidy.

With slipstream you can knock a couple of seconds more off easily, so the race is all about finding a willing tow truck.

In "the race" the slow bits were fine with good corner exit speed , the few tow trucks I did find just drove away on the straight .

It was the same for both races but found the BRM faster through the twiddly bits , I was suprised the riceburner didnt pick up the tow but maybe that was a gear ratio thing ( both set ups my own )

concluding its probably just my crappy driving  Roll Eyes

(either that or Vos has knobbled me GPL driver.ini in retribution for SPA )  Grin

The Wazamobile is a delicate and highly tuned car and as such needs careful handling, as I often demonstrate  Grin

For what its worth,

Although the red line is at something stoopid like 14K, you really don't want to exceed 12.5K in any gear even on long straights. Max torque is around 12k and after that it drops away to the point that trying to pull 13.5K is a waste of time, unless you are very closely following a rocket powered supertanker on the straights.
Also the steps between the gears are worth checking. In my setup 4th-5th drops only 1000 revs, whereas 2nd -1st might be closer to 2000revs all to do with torque curves or something..... Undecided
