Moderator's Report

Well done Tom on his first UKGPL win in his third race. This leaves him at the top of the championship.
There were complaints as regards warp and, whilst it is recognised there was some warp, it did not play a significant factor in the fatalities. A reminder that extra care must be taken near other drivers when warp is an issue.

Server replay time: 0h03m47s

Hristo goes into the rear of John with FMG subsequenly hitting John's stricken car.
Under normal circumstances this would constitute a Blatant Rear End Shunt (the victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter made no allowance for the victim whatsoever. The shunter was in full control.).
However, it must be recognised warp may have played a slight factor in this incident. The normal penalty for protracted close driving would be 1 place or nothing if the following car was not too close.
Prior to this incident there had been moments of very close driving but it is clear Hristo was frustrated behind from gestures indicated on the replay. Racing Etiquette has the following;
If a driver is following a slower car, they should remember that they will brake earlier than the faster car.
Any driver who, by not complying with the above rules, causes another car to crash or take severe avoiding action may be penalised.

Accordingly, whilst possibly warp is a factor, Hristo should have taken more care. A Caution to be more patient will be applied in this instance.

Moderator's Report

Seems Bernie is the Ring Meister with two consecutive wins at this track. Three different winners from three races.

Server replay time: 0h01m34s

Billy is hit in the rear by Hannah entering the corner. Firstly, there is no rule that says you must drive on a certain racing line, people may use the lines optimal for them. It should be noted that, at point of impact, Hannah was doing approx 85mph to Billy's 68. Having looked at other drivers at the same point Billy's speed seems to be the norm so he was not significantly slow there. Under these circumstances the onus is on those following to be careful.
Accordingly this constitutes a Blatant Rear End Shunt (the victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter made no allowance for the victim whatsoever. The shunter was in full control) with an additional lap 1 penalty.

Server replay time: 0h01m49s

Billy takes a Shift/R but there is no subsequent correct pit stop within 2 laps.
Normally this would constitute a race Disqualification however he did attempt a stop in the last lap at 1h00m08s. Aside from not pitting within 2 laps, he didn't actually stop in the pits. However I think some discretion might be in order in this instance as he clearly (eventually) did attempt a pit so the intention was there.
Accordingly a 30 second penalty is awarded with a reminder that a proper stop in the pits MUST be made within two laps of your reset.

Server replay time: 0h10m03s

Billy is closing on Mike T and goes for an overtake on the inside of the corner. He clips Mike T spinning him out. There was little overlap at point of impact and Mike had very little time to react to Billy moving across.
Simple Ambitious Overtake has this 'The overtaking car had NOT achieved a 50% or greater overlap at the point of turn-in. There was no loss of control by either driver. Penalty for overtaking driver.'

Evil

Just noticed, if you make this it will be your 281st UKGPL race equalling me at the top of the standings.  The only record I've ever held in UKGPL! LOL.  Looks like you and Hristo will crack the 300 barrier this season Grin.

LOL  I have not looked at that stat in the past couple of years Shocked  But i would have expected Hristo to be way ahead???!! Its a shame that races run does not equate to races won lol. but I sure have had a lot of fun over the years.  Grin

If you had asked, I would have thought that there were dozens ahead ( if that's the right word  Roll Eyes ) of me in this. But, upon reflection a lot of the names that were in UKGPL when I started, have moved on except for maybe Hristo, Bernie and yourself Phil. Geez!!! that makes me feel old(er) Undecided

Considering how many races I missed due to forgetting about them, I could've been past the 300 mark by now, lol. Yeah, Evil, it makes you feel odd. I started at UKGPL only when it was in its 12th or 13th season, but I guess older members quit by that time.

This only applies for this specific race and only if you take your one allowable Shift/R on the 7th (final) lap.
Tim - which is it? The 7th lap only or my final lap?  Grin
Hopefully they will be the same thing  Wink

If I get to 5 I'll be ecstatic...  Roll Eyes

Yes but events entered is only part of the story.  If you look at the driver's stats Hristo has 114 wins, you have 30, Bernie has 5 and I only have 3.  So on that score we are all a long long way behind H scooter

It would have to be a beheading Bernie, 'cos thats where most of H's 'winningness' lies.

I may not live to see T1 at this rate. Car's horrible to drive, I cannot get any traction and turning it is impossible.

Slow down until it's possible to drive and turns in.  Wink You and Evil are masters of overdriving, but somehow  he manages to get away with it.

Sorry Juha, I just lost it under braking when my front left wheel touched the grass there. But anyway, this was terrible, everyone was warping pretty badly and it was impossible to get close to anyone and stay there. I also hope for a rerun, not because of my result, but because it wasn't what one would call a proper race.

Similar thing happened to the Imola Spec race #1 and it turned out to be wrong bandwidth settings, so I hope the reason could be found and removed. Maybe related to 60fps patch as well, did anyone forget to turn it off before joining the server?

My ping was between 230-260, but the lag of the cars looked more like it was at least 600-700, as if someone was downloading something through the server's connection.

I never do well at the Nurburgring so decided to save my precious tokens by calling into service an old bathtub. As usual it was a case of racing the track rather than other drivers but for once I managed to be amongst the handful to complete the race without major drama or technical problems.

Congrats to Bernie on his fine win for the Soggies.
