My car details look fine Tim.
Apologies to John for the tap at Stowe, but I plead "New Car Syndrome". I noticed that you got tagged a few more times by the other 2D driver. It would appear from what I saw in the race that the collision boxes are very much tighter to the cars than we have been used to in the open wheel mods and maybe the fact that there are no wheels sticking out to climb over improves the chances of surviving a contact....time will tell
I have to say that I was really caught out by how early you braked in the Lola compared to the Chappy Barge I was driving. I would have expected the Lola to be better balanced and that it would have gone deeper into the corner than the 2D?? But I have not tried the T70 yet so maybe my preconceptions are wrong.
I did try and miss you by going wide , but as we are all discovering these cars are wider than we are used to and maybe not quite so agile.
I think the mods have scored an absolute massive hit with this GT mod. This is something completely different, requiring a different approach especially if we have some long races where, the hinted at, reliability gremlin will come into play
I took the 2D Chappy because I had tried the 2F and comfortably won a practice race on Thursday evening in my first ever try out of this new mod. So I thought I would opt for something slightly slower and see what fun I could have . Pleased to find that I was not too far off the pace, but I was also getting used to the information overload from the new pribluda display.
Most interesting is the "oil temp" display, something I have not had before and it turns red when the engine is abused
how dammed clever and useful. That should be handy in the Waza where although I rarely blow engines, maybe there is scope for a bit more aggression ??
I would agree that any GT races or series this season should be on a "fun" basis, as it will take us time to get to know all these cars and the setups which certainly look totally alien to me at the moment.
