P.S. Goran, sorry if you got misled by my talk to take the M1. It's definitely not the most powerful thing around, though it has decent handling when set-up properly.
No problem H, it was more or less like using the dice for me anyway, and the M1 was not too bad but I guess the setup stuff should have made it a lot better if I had known how to do it. Göran

You Waza's will need a track specific list of acceptable cars. The MkII and MkIV GT40's are ideal for you on really twisty circuits, while you need to be in the 910 for tracks like Le Mans Anyway, I'm off take a 2D around Targa just to punish myself, will let you know how I fair

The Chap's actually quite nice here once you get your head around spending most of the lap in first Ended up with a 38.15.3 and 2 Shift-R's. One of which was mainky due to it being quicker than a 56 point turn, quite pleased with that and know I can knock a good 30 seconds/minute off with a few more laps of practice now I have a suitable setup

Interesting people are talking about the front wheels locking up.
I have changed the bias from the default 60/40 down to 50/50 and it helps when braking in a straight line but still needs some control on the brake pedal which I would expect. Obviously I wouldn't plant my foot right down on the brakes in a real car and I can't in this mod either, but once going into Copse in practise I have locked the fronts under braking but then lifted off the brakes completely yet the front right stayed locked and I couldn't do anything and slid off.

With the default setup in the Porsche I could pretty much stand on the brakes - I had the bias down to 52% but my gearing was poor so my top speed wasn't high but it was much more stable than the 65 for me and I didn't get any locking up whatsoever. Just my four pennies worth. I did, however, find all the others I tried (LOLA, Ferrari and Ford GT Mk I) very hard to stop without spinning.

THAT'S what I'm talking about! It happens even at very slight application of brakes, so it's definitely not a driver's mistake. It's not a forward-dialed brake bias, it happens even with 49bb! I think it must be a bug in the mod or something, there's just no explanation that I could come up with. It doesn't happen in any other mod or sim. You mention Copse, I had it happening mostly at Stowe, but both are similar corners, with some banking. I would imagine a wheel locking up if it goes in the air in a banked corner, but the outside wheel should still be OK and providing the majority of the frontend grip, so it doesn't make sense to have such a complete and long lock up that even a lift up of the brake pedal cannot cure. I slid off 3 times in this race and in the end I was afraid to touch the brakes after initial turn-in, even if I had to correct something. It makes for uncomfortable driving.

Says he was in a Lola in the results. edit: my mistake - looks like he was in a Lola - I just saw this red thing in my mirrors & assumed it must've been a Ferrari.

Crikey Geoff! thought you'd forgotten about us! I think I have the replay of my race but it's fairly midfield due to car choice so may not have the antics from up front If it was run on T7 (Can't remember if it was or not) then the server replay may still be sitting around - I'll have a look when I get home if I have time. You planning on re-joining us then?

Hi mate, long time no hear. Hope you'll be joining us for some online track fun soon. We don't usually post up fun race replays (to save server space) but I think an exception can be made so you'll find it in the usual place here.
