It just makes it easier to do your timed pitstops, nothing more. As for the idea behind pitstops, it's to handicap certain cars so you can win by using any car.
I suppose the reason why we are only running some of the races with mandatory pitstops is to test out how the system works, nothing else. In a regular championship I would expect to either have mandatory pitstops for each race or none at all.

Well, in UKGTR we have mandatory pitstops and , to be honest, i f******g hate them! Just had yet another race completely destroyed by a pit-stop issue. This time it was the ignition that wouldnt cut out ( pitcrew wont refule the car with a running engine.) Lets try them in GPL, but my personaly feeling is that they dont belong in the game, just like rolling starts.....

nice one , thx Clive . plz count me in . ...I should be used to mandatory pitstops , as we had them in every GP3 league races . was an very important and thrilling part of the race , especially because GP3 count tyre wear/ fuel load/consumption and offers different types of tyres . practising pit entry was a must be... well , even so GPL handle it different , I do like the idea of mandatory pitstop for this series very much . see ya on track

I'm in of course. Clive maybe you could update the text in the rules about where you have to stop to do a safe long pit-stop . Ciao

Hope to make most of them, please count me in. I'm afraid I'm going to have to pull out. I have sustained a compression fracture to the top of my tibia doing the martial arts tournament last Sunday so there is no way I'm going to be able to drive for at least a few weeks; I actually think I could try it but the doctors have said to me to stop trying to use my leg for now, so I'll see how it goes, but suppose I better not risk causing any permanent damage. Guess I'll be back on flight sim for a few weeks. Good luck.

cheers, getting it pinned and most probably plated in an operation on Thursday which will probably be initially more restrictive than the break itself. Hopefully be back to it in a few weeks.
