Re: GT Race at Nurburgring 11th March New series

The next GT fun race will be on Friday 11th March at Nurburgring.

Please  be in UKGPL chatroom at 8:50 p.m. if you wish to take part

NO ROLLING START    and     NO PITSTOPS   for this race.

6 Laps around the green hell and a long walk back to the pits if your car breaks down. But there is some nice scenery to admire.

 A single Shift-R allowed regardless of blame but the driver must perform a Stop and Go in the Pits on the next lap.

To prevent everyone taking one of the "power" cars for each and every race, drivers will have a total budget of 85 tokens to cover all 5 races AND must take a different car for each race.
If you miss a race, then 17 tokens will be deducted from your budget, so that no-one can forfeit a single race and run faster cars in the remaining races.

Why is it that only 4 people have points? Did we have just 4 finishers in the last race and do you drop those who didn't complete a certain race distance before retirement?

Yeah there were only 4 finishers H. There was a few more before the first round of pitstops but the server disconnected a few of us  . I'm hoping that won't happen again at this round.

Well, in official races everyone gets points, even if they retire before reaching the middle of the race.

Not at all, you would sitll be leading a lot of people if those behind you are given (less) points instead of zero. Just saying that it's odd tha it works like that in official races, but we don't do it here in the fun series.

   My simple rules for these GT fun races say  "no finish=no points" , maybe if we make a full GT championship next season we will revert to the standard points format.

 It was an attempt to persuade drivers to think about survival, rather than risk all on the first lap........but that appears not to have worked??!!

Hummm,,,, maybe you should not have put up the "Tokens left" column if your calculator not working properly. I mean 85 - 14 = 71, 85 - 16 = 69 but I got 67 from a 16 Tokens car and Hristo and Bob get 69 from a 14 Tokens car so please, at least I can use all my Tokens.

  well to me it was those random story makes the Fezza engine dying ...

anybody do know how those random  factor is built into GPL software ?

wonder if it may be an good idear to stay on int-level just to stay more free from random failure factor over pro-level , regardless off shift-R will be not allowed in upcoming
GT season . Does gplra tells if there was an shift-R  done ?

Hopefully if everyone can be bothered to read the rules/guidelines for this series we might have less problems with starts, pitstops, number of shift-r's allowed, allocation of points for finishing etc. I certainly drove with survival in mind and it worked for me.
