Season 21 – Spec Race Challenge

The specific division rules for the Spec Race Challenge are the same as last season excepting, in line with all other divisions, any resets must be followed by a compulsory stop and go. There are no longer any free SHIFT-Rs ie every time you do a SHIFT-R in a race, you must take a Stop-n-Go penalty, regardless of whose fault the incident was. The races will now run fortnightly on Fridays.

Please check the Season 21 pages for details regarding rules and the Spec Race Challenge pages in particular.

The races will be run as follows:

Car set: 65 F1, 66 F1, 67 F1 and 69 F1 (utilising the original 69 mod)
Date: Every second Friday from 29 April 2011
Time: 9:00pm London UK Time (12 mins practice, Race 1 starts at 9:12pm.  There will then be a second 10 mins practice session followed by Race 2.)
Race Length: Short
Damage Model:  Intermediate
Server: UKGPL_T7_2
Race List: IGOR

Glad to see we already have some entries before posting the Mod (year) and the chassis!I've done a partial update to the post so you can see the Mods.
With the introduction of GT's UKGPL is offering more racing than ever so the track and Mod selection for Spec Rcaes is aimed at keeping things simple. The less used tracks will run 65 cars with Papyrus standards for the 66 ,67 & 69 races. (Monza 10K is not strictly a Papyrus but next best thing). So saying the add on tracks have all been used over the past 2 or 3 seasons.
The 69 cars seem to be a bit love 'em or hate'em. I wasn't originally intending to include BUT we've included one in toward the end of the season as there is a Mod update in the pipeline.
I will complete the post as soon as possible with the chassis.
Anyone '65 only drivers are welcome to participate. This might tempt you into trying other Mods at some of the easier circuits or you can just attend for the earlier part of the season.

I'm intending to do as much as possible this season. I don't as yet have the 66 mod installed but that can bve easily fixed. I am however slightly disappointed with the lack of 1969 events as I've recently installed that and LOVE it!!!!

Appreciated that 69 Mod is popular with some but not all. UKGPL have looked into running a 69 season in the past & there was not sufficient interest. Rather too late to change things now but at least there will be one 69 race on the calendar.

You will notice from the the main annoumcement (top of this thread) that I have now added the chassis selection for each race.

Now just get my wheel fixed & I'll be able to enter!

I have just installed 69 Extra on T7 server and hosted a race as dedicated server. It takes ages to load and the final total RAM used is 1.4 Gb.
RAM installed is 1 Gb so the server swap 400 Mb on HD.
This can be a problem and we need a test to see how it works with a full field.
I'll check with Bart how much RAM has is server and if he can install the new mod.
Ciao
