Moderator's Report

The division is proving popular and there were no complaints about this late circuit change. There were however some valid complaints about the server which will not be used again for GT races.

The warp was a factor in some incidents and as normal will not be punished, but can warp be blamed for all of them?

Server replay time: 0h01m10s

T2 was the catalyst for several collisions, mainly small ones.

Maybe drivers would have been well advised to be extra careful on such a warpy server but what actually happened?

Natan was quick on the approach and lost some control which put him into the tyres on the inside and slowed him down which had a concertina effect as those behind had to slow as well.

Jason was trying to outbrake Fabio who had a terrific start and was very hot into T2 where he hit Nicky who in turn was slow after tapping Phil who was giving Natan room.

Goran decided he would avoid any possible incidents by driving straight on and almost gets collected as he rejoins near the racing line on the exit.

Drivers should have been extra cautious at T2 on a warpy server but luckily the collisions we saw were not serious and everybody continued pretty much unaffected.

Because it is not obviously clear who could see what on their clients at this stage I have waived any potential penalties for these incidents.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h03m24s

Hristo and Tom are locked in battle and as they hit the braking zone for T4 Tom forgets to hit the brakes and hits Hristo, knocking them both off.

Both rejoin and lose 2 positions.

Server replay time: 0h04m28s

Paul outbrakes himself into the final turn and is slow into it which means Jonny behind him has to hit the brakes.

Fabio arrives on the scene very quickly and rear ends Jonny.

It is doubtful whether Fabio would have made the corner as he was going that quickly.

Server replay time: 0h17m03s

Jonny is passing Fran and is clearly quicker at this stage.

Fran may have had physical contact but he reaction of his car suggest warp and there will be no penalty given.

Warp Incident

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h21m48s

Fran is following Paul through Le Musee and Paul makes a real mess of it but keeps it pointing forwards just about.
Fran shapes up to make a pass but before he can pull out from behind Paul he gets too close and hits him.

There may be some warp involved but there was a discernible and avoidable contact.

UKGPL Season 21 Porsche Super Cup
Race 2 Le Mans Bugatti

Round 2 of the Porsche Super Cup takes place en France, and in particular the Le Mans Bugatti track.

It isn't the best circuit in France, in fact it isn't the best circuit in Le Mans, but it should provide our Porsches with an entertaining and competitive race.

Download the circuit here

Please see the Porsche Super Cup registration thread for an explanation of the Team Setups:

I REALLY (and I mean REALLY!!!) hope we don't repeat what happened at T2 on lap 1 in yesterday's BREASTS race! The WHOLE field went off, I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed something like that, LOL. It's worth making a video of.  Cheesy

I enjoyed watching your valiant efforts, at imitating a bulldozer, Hristo.  I'm often puzzled by the pregnant pause displayed by some cars, following an unexpected off.

I suck harder than a Dyson at this track. Me and the Porsche are like Fred Astaire and Ginger...

...Spice.

Just can't get the speed round the corners. Too cautious too slow but when I try to hold speed I spin. Hopeless. I have practised for this and I can do between high 1:46 and 1:49. Really frustrating. Don't really care about the times but I just can't seem to get the hairpins right.

High 46's means you're only 3 secs off my pace! Couldn't get below 43 today, maybe I'll be in better shape tomorrow.

The thing to remember here Paul is that every corner, which is also quite slow, is followed by a VERY long straight. So, you have to gear everything up for the exit of the corner. Stay on the middle or outside of the track untill the last 1/3 of the corner, driving carefully, then aim for a straight line out of the corner, hitting both the apex and outer white line of the track. Remember that when you get better exits out of corners, you will also have to start braking earlier for the next corner because you are carrying more speed.

Are we all going to be driving in white cars tonight, or are teams colour coded in some way?

Just concerned that I should/could have a different opinion of how to drive if one of my team mates is behind/in front of me. I don't mean I'm taking you out if you aren't my teamie, just don't want to have a post race Vettel/Webber Turkey 2010 type conversation... Cheesy
