Moderator's Report

A popular circuit and a great venue for our Porsches, despite a couple of incidents at T1 where people jostled for the inside unsure of what would have been in their mirrors if they had any.

Despite this being a team event, the Clark-Hill boys had so much faith in Geoff that they used him as their sole entrant. Bloody idiots!

The unofficial oversteer championship is still being won by Evil Clive who is now able to use this technique in almost every corner. Well done Clive!

Server replay time: 0

T1 saw a couple of drivers moving over to the inside when they could not be sure that no other car was there.

In this mod with it's poor rearward visibility it is particularly important to be prepared to stick to your own side of the grid from the start until the field have spread a little, usually after T1.

Ronnie was guilty of it as he squeezed Pedro and Cookie was also guilty of it as he chopped across the front of Arf Arf Arf.

To avoid being involved in the argy bargy, Bob started from the pit lane.

Server replay time: 0h01m10s

Cookie follows Goran through Druids and the two make contact as Cookie aims for a small gap on the inside. Goran goes off track and loses a couple of places as he recovers.

Goran had to lift slightly to avoid rear ending Pedro and Cookie looked to seize on the opportunity to pass him but had no overlap going into the corner and no gap wide enough for his car. Considering this was Lap 1 in a Pro level race it was a very risky move with little chance of success.

The initial contact between the cars is a warp contact but as Goran's car gets sideways there is real contact between the two of them and Goran is lucky that the reaction of his car was not more severe.

Though we don't punish warp incidents in all cases, there are certain instances where a warp incident could be expected and drivers should drive in a way that does not invite a warp incident. Lap 1 T2 with no real gap would count as one of those instances and Cookie should have lifted and followed Goran through Druids.

The m oderator has waived the extra Lap 1 Incident penalty place as the initial contact was warp, though it may have become real at some point.

Moderator's Report

Two Drivers, two corners, two incidents, two different outcomes.

Server replay time: 0h08m53s

Clouds and Natan collide in the final turn.

Clouds has no overlap at turn in, but Natan is unstable and runs wide before regaining control and heading back to the racing line where Clouds is now moving past him.

This was a legitimate overtake attempt by Clouds and following his wobble Natan should have been aware that Clouds was moving alongside as he was visible in the lead up to the incident.

Server replay time: 0h12m56s

Natan is slow on the approach to South Bank and lets a car pass but he recovers his racing speed and line and enters South Bank with Clouds behind him.

Clouds makes a passing attempt on the inside but he hits Natan as Natan heads towards the apex.

Clouds left his passing attempt far too late and has no overlap at turn in which means Natan has every right to take the racing line and was always going to do so.

UKGPL3 is up Colin. It has exited a few times after running a race. Not sure why - it should loop. Up now though. I've just had a go to prove I can do it - PB Good - 1:41 Not do good  laugh

Bugger. My first race retirement. All my own fault........

After a pile of comedy connection errors (Pro races were not enabled at top of GEM so I was panicking re why I couldn't see the race server..), I made it in. I haven't got the knack of the GTs yet so was glas to set a PB in qually, and given that there was no warp, actually got to look forward to the race!

There was some banging together just out of Druids that made me nervous, but I got round it, then I hit the inside kerb at South Bank and did a 360...and got overtaken by the rest of the field. Red mist chasing them into Hawthorn and I over committed (actually thought I was in a gear lower than it turned out I was...), and I beached it on the outside....

Still, no warp. I can actually look forward to Valentino on Sunday, which is so much easier than Brands.....er...... Oh bugger.... Smiley

Well you lasted longer than me mate. I didn't make the first corner. Just got away slowly and wanted to avoid any incidents and drive for some consistent laps. Touched the brakes, car spins a bit, I catch it, and hit one of those effing posts at about 10mph. End of Race. F@!* Grrr. Stupid PRO settings  Angry

Had an incident with Goran I think, which unfortunately ended both of our races.  Not sure if it was my fault or not. Goran was recovering after what I assume must have been an incident, I overtook on the outside going into that difficult long turn under the bridge (name?), I turned in then moments later we collided.  I had a quick look at the replay and I seemed to be entirely past before turning in and braking ( I also I couldn't see you anymore when driving). I did turn in and start braking though...it is possible I should have tried to stay wider.  See what the mods say I suppose.  For my part, sorry it ended our races.

and another early bath from me...
I was actually having a fairly good "fun" race with Geoff... we waited for each other to catch up after our various "moments".. but unfortunately it came to an end with a slight warp contact that put Geoffs Porka on its roof Sad Sorry m8...
With 13 to go i decided enough was enough and parked up and hit esc, even though my car was in perfect order... we were 30 mins late getting the server going and i'm just too knackered for this tonight.
Somehow despite the hype im finding the Porsche cup, well, a bit crap TBH  Roll Eyes
Maybe We've just done too much Brands in a short space, I dont know....

Inconsistent rubbish, couldn't get any rythm going at all throughout....and richly deserved getting punted off. No hard feelings Jason, if I'd driven it properly......you'd probably not got close enough there to hit me. Silly little mistakes that were absent through all the practice and Qually. Need to buy some concentration somewhere.
Anyway, bad luck I was the sole Clark Hill competitor, server was quite sparse all up for competitors. Congrats to the podium chaps. Now on to..........somewhere else apart from Brands..........Smiley

Bob.

Yes I am sorry too and had a quick look too and it all started with Fulvio spinning in front of me in T1 so you came close to me and then when we went side by side I guess that we both just did not want the other to be in front so ........ well I had the inside line and I think I kept it and you were not enough in front to turn in but at the same time if I had been wise I would have lifted off a bit so for me it was a racing incident.

As a whole the race was pretty rubbish for me, it started in L1 T2 when I got bumped when I tried to avoid the one in front of me that had a little moment. I lost 2 places but got running again following the one that had bumped me and Fulvio. I was quicker but did not find a way pass so I was stuck and then Fulvio (I think) had the spin in T1 and then the incident with Bob and it was over.

The good thing about the race was that Pedro kept it together and took a fine 3Rd, and that we managed to stay in 3Rd in the championship.

Btw, I am "sorry" to say that one of the Silverstone races to come, the Porsche race on Jun 17 I will not make because I am going to an Eagle concert. So have fun.

Sorry Göran that was me! oops
It was warp contact! In replay you can see I didn't touch you.

My race was long and a little boring after all my contrahents had gone. My setup was a little too conservative to keep in touch with Pedro.
The good thing is I finished without making any big mistake.

The Porsche International Team collected some great points thanx Juha and Ray!

Not sure if you're aware, Axel, but warp contact does not lift you up from responsibility. You have to account for any possible warp by leaving more room than the car's occupied space.

If I woudn't have dived in the inside of the corner, I would have bumped in the rear!
I had Fulvio in my back too...
We call this a "Domino Effekt"

Thanx Hristo for this consideration, but how big must be the gap?
In replay there are about 50cm room between the cars. Best seen in Fulvios POV  Wink

Despite another blown engine, mistaken downshift on my part I think, Team Porsche International picked up another three figure haul of points. My fall to 6th was Axels gain in 4th and Juha drove another excellent race for 2nd. After my demise and that of many others, I stayed to watch the duel at the front between Tom and Juha as they battled for the win, well done Tom. Grats to Pedro as well on 3rd spot. Great series, see you all at Silverstone.

I was in 4th position at lap 8(if i remeber)but unfortunately an accident with Vix have sent my car on the hedge.Impossible to restart. The problem is always the same,Vix try to overtake me inside a curve but due to the lack of the side view ,for me Vix was again behind.....and crash.
My 4th position was due to an accident between Vix and someother in the precending lap otherwise my natural position  is 6th.My disappointment is to not have finished the race.
