Moderator's Report

A great track for our Porsches and a great debut from our French Flyers with a debut 1,2 finish.

More Pro than Am they will race in different colours next time out.

Server replay time: 0h27m43s

Andrea runs into the back of Nicky at Woodcote and spins him.
This is the second time the two have come into contact and the second time Nicky has been on the receiving end.

The first incident is not reported as such but I will mention it as I examined it.
Andrea has not overlap at turn in but Nicky seemed to move over earlier than on previous laps when Andrea was visible in the mirrors going for the inside. The pass attempt was late and unlikely to succeed but I will not apply a punishment here.

The second incident which was reported is much more clear cut and is not an overtake attempt, Andrea intends to follow Nicky but simply does not react quickly enough and runs into the back of him.

This was a clumsy collision that should have been avoided.

Moderator's Report

There were some incidents in this race after lap 1 that went unreported so they will not be moderated or punished, but if you get a minute it is worth watching Vosblod punt his team mate Steve off at Abbey.

Server replay time: 0h00m58s

Fabio is still putting out his cigarette as the race starts so he doesn't see how close he gets to Geoff on the run to T1.

As he turns his mobile phone off and puts it in the glove compartment he hits Geoff and ends up in a barrel roll while Geoff continues apparently unaffected apart from the cost of some white paint and turtle wax.

Though unreported this is a lap 1 incident so it comes under moderation, but as Fabio is the only one affected and ends up last I have not punished his stupidity.

His punishment is knowing that everybody will now watch his replay.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m55s

Jason follows Geoff into Stowe and hits him.
Jason seemed to make a lazy and failed attempt at a pass but neither committed to it or backed out of it.
The end result was inevitable as the 2 make contact and Geoff is punted off.

There was an element of warp involved and Geoff was warping at times but that cannot be used as an excuse as Jason should have backed out of the move earlier.

I have taken warp into account but this was still an avoidable incident.

Server replay time: 0h17m28s

Pedro follows Ronnie into Stowe but only 1 emerges but can you guess which one?

Yes! The one at the back.

This was a tricky one as Pedro has no overlap at turn in and does not look to be trying a pass, but Ronnie slides off the line mid corner and a gap opens as they start to exit the corner.

Ronnie corrects his slide and moves back towards the inside where Pedro now is and the two make contact.

At first glance this would appear to be Pedro being a little ambitious but I think a valid passing opportunity opens up until Ronnie corrects and the collision occurs on Pedro's side of the track.

Both recover and Pedro slows to wait for Ronnie, though this is not advisable and often causes further trouble rather than being a simple gentlemanly gesture.

The advantage of 2 Pro drivers versus 1 Pro 1 Amateur 1 Novice or the other combinations is obvious - you can take 1-2 result in a race, while the others, even if they're 3 drivers, would always score (under normal circumstances) less points by finishing lower down the grid.

Again, I'm asking - where's the harm in running 2 LOL teams, with less than 3 drivers? You wanted to join, you wanted to make teams, so you should've known in advance how it works. I don't like it that we suddenly change the rules to accommodate new drivers and ignore how that affects all of our other members. It's not like you'll alienate our new comers by sticking to the rules, right?

So why not let them race in 2 separate but incomplete teams, and in time they'll fill in the gaps. Some of our other teams have drivers who can't make all races, but I don't see you shuffling drivers around to compensate for that. We have to look for reserves and other drivers ourselves, just like it should be.

YO ....Smiley
....w'll try to do 2 teams , but it's not easy to find 3 drivers with the right level .... and the motivation to be present every time.....

I believe Arf Arf Arf does not have a permanent team and has driven in the series. Perhaps he would be interested in joining one of your teams.

As others have said, some teams do not always have all 3 drivers racing. At Brands Hatch the Clark-Hill team had only 1 driver.  Grin

There are definitely drivers around each Friday and I don't think Magic or Tom_g will find it difficult to get allies... Smiley

As long as people are registered we can accommodate them. Would be nice to know what team they are before the race though Wink

It may be worth asking at GPFun as they have a team racing here in the series, they may have a couple more who would race.

On another note, can you imagine the fun if next season this thing runs over 3 servers?

It's a good job I'm already an alcoholic.

Yes, indeed. I would be interested. I think Fulvio also mentioned that Stefano62, very recently added as Team7 reserve driver, might be looking for a team.

that indeed was an great race !! very thrilling .. got very nice close racing with A.Tendas over a big numbers of laps , as well with Fulvio .. real big fun ( except maybe the kickout at lap 17 at Woodcote by A.T. , which of course wasnt sort of enjoyable to me that moment ,lol. ) Bit overdone and did messed up my race... , but have to metioned he did very gentleman like while wait for me after the first unwanted kickout at lap 10 . So as I said above ; it was a very great fair racing  ...

btw. quality of server 7 to me was brilliant .

Quote
Hristo, can you forward me that alien setup for the Porsche?? would love to know how they are carrying so much speed through the corners...

I am too curious to test that setup , so if possible , it would be great if you can sent it to me via email Hristo .

looking forward to the next race ...

big hand to the podium ones !!!
as well to my team mates  Smiley

You do realise that would mean having Arf Arf Arf in a LOL team?

I think you did that on purpose.  Grin

Hi,

cool, you're welcome, but we have to find two another drivers...stefano had no team ?
I don't know if you'll be with me or Tristan until we don't have two complete team.

Hi guys.
First time for me in the top three qualify places for mod. GT. I was a little lucky for that but...not completely  Tongue Wink. Anyway the gap between Tom G. and me (something around 0.7 sec) says enough about his skill.
I was thinking to have a good gear setting but at last 3rd, 4th and 5th gear were a little too much longer than expected compared to the ones of my direct adversaries Tom G., Tristan B. and Tom W.O.
After the start Tom G. pushed hard and gained 2 or 3 secs in 10 laps but...the battle for the 2nd place was in order to begin, in fact after lap 10 my direct adversaries reduced the gap from me and at stowe I made a little mistake on curve exiting permitting Tristan to engage me and trying to overtake me along the straight between stowe and club. So at club, I was forced to retard the brake point but...I retarded too much crossing the groove line and hitting the barrier on the other side of the curve fortunately without any damage to my car. This event made me furious due to my mistake (I was in 4th place anyway) and because I have lost 4 secs from Tristan and Tom W.O. Then I begun to push very hard (at least for my capabilities) and in 3 laps I was again behind Tom W.O.
At lap 20 Tom W.O. made a mistake at abbey going on the grass surrounding the curve ad so I had the opportunity to overtake him gaining the 3rd place less than 2 secs behind Tristan but, at lap 21 while I was in the slipstream of Tristan, I made the mistake that compromised my race definately going on the external grass at abbey during acceleration on curve exiting and loosing control of my Porsche. The car crossed the track side by side going to hit the barrier at the left side of the track and exploding in flames. AMEN !
Nice and fun race but...since now watch your six...I could be there!  Wink
See you soon at Kyalami...
