As things stand we run two Seasons of 10 races every 12 months or so, roughly held from April to September and October to March. This is a fluid arrangement and does result in uneven season breaks, partially from the need to incorporate a mini break over xmas. We are looking, either in the short or longer term, to make the breaks more even and run the 10 race seasons from Mid Jan to early June then late July to mid December. Why? Partly to give the moderators more time to set up the seasons and also give us a break, as well as to allow mini events/fun races where we can test out ideas. It does seem logical to fit both seasons into a yearly period and give even breaks.
So we can either run a half-season (5 race) block from October to December OR stagger the introduction over 2012 so we start S24 in Jan 2013 which would mean, approximately, the following;

30/10/11(S) - 9/12/11(F) = 3
Xmas break
22/1/12(S) - 30/3/12(F) = 5
Easter break
15/4/12(S) - 11/5/12(F) = 2
S23
17/6/12(S) - 27/7/12(F) = 3
Summer break
2/9/12(S) - 7/12/12(F) = 7
