Moderator's ReportAll in all, rather a messy race with too many incidents for div 2. Please take note of the comments on rejoining - your first priority is to keep out of the way of other drivers, not to get back on track as fast as possible. Lap 1
Ben ends up running parallel to the track on the grass outside. He gradually moves across and rejoins, but Peter Allnut is faced with a much slower car in front of him, which makes him spin. Ben was probably caught out a bit by the 2 behind limitation, and I also think he didn't intend to rejoin quite so abruptly, so I've reduced the penalty, although it is also increased since it was lap 1.
Andy Wright and Karl Doyle take T1 side by side. Andy gets a better drive on the exit, and is a car length ahead before turn-in, but Karl tries to brake late and grab the inside line. Andy cuts across towards the apex, but Karl slides a bit wide and they collide.
Lap 3
Karl Doyle is following David Few down to T1. David brakes rather early while on the outside, and while braking moves across to the inside. Karl is caught out by the change of line and speed, and rear-ends David. I'm satisfied Karl was not trying to pass here (he was miles back), plus he had little chance to avoid when David moved across. Andy Wright is following David Few into T5. David eases off very early (apparently as the car felt wrong after the T1 incident described above), but Andy doesn't appear to notice, gets too close and then cannot stop in time to avoid rear-ending David. Andy should have either left a bigger gap or taken a diferent line in the circumstances, but the early braking is a mitigating factor.
Lap 5 Michael Boylan is spun round by the incident and is rolling backwards down the grass on the outside. He deliberately turns the car in to towards the track to get a quick rejoin and ends up stationary in the middle of the track. Several cars are approaching, all have to take avoiding action and 2 spin off track.
Az Edwards spins on the exit of T3 and ends up rolling backwards down the grass on the outside. He then deliberately turns the wheel to swing the car back on track to get a quick getaway (just like Michael - was he watching?). Baz is approaching, and seeing a stationary car appear on the racing line is forced to take avoiding action, resulting in a shift R.
Ben Yalland is attempting to pass Michael Boylan on the main straight. MB covers the inside line, but Ben drives straight through the armco and passes on the inside. This clearly shows Ben is using the pitlane removal patch, which is banned in UKGPL races.

Moderator's ReportOverall, not a bad race from most drivers, with only one serious incident. Ben Yalland drove an immaculate race to win in the BRM, although Michael may have given him a run for his money had he been luckier. Lap 1
Paul Bird brakes too late or not hard enough, almost taking out Az Edwards at the gasworks hairpin. Paul tells me that this was down to his pedals moving, and since there was little effect on Az I don't think its necessary to take any action. Lap 6 Lap 15

Moderator's ReportOverall an excellent race as far as incidents are concerned. The standard is getting better every race, so I look forward to a zero incident race next time :-) (I can dream). Lap 3

Moderator's ReportOverall another good race, but a few more incidents than last time. Lap 1
Michael Boylan has to take some evasive action to avoid the Paul/Kev smash, so Coll dives in the gap he vacates on the inside. On the exit of the corner Michael moves back to the right assuming it to be free, but Coll is there and there is contact.
Lap 10
Baz spins off to the outside and into the hay bales, but deliberately allows his car to roll back across the track onto the racing line to make a quick getaway possible. Michael Boylan has nowhere to go and runs into him.
