The season continues for the closed wheel enthusiasts and a chance to blast the Can Ams around a popular GPL venue. We stay in Europe and at Rouen for the Can Ams. No excuses for not "knowing" this track. Rouen, in northern France on the River Seine, is the capital of the Haute-Normandie (Upper Normandy) region and the historic capital city of Normandy. That information will not make your lap times any faster, nor will it increase your standing in your local community, but it does add an educational element to this race post. It was also easy for the race poster as I cut and paste from the last GT race here... The rules are simple…. You have a free choice of car for every race, BUT you cannot drive the same car twice. So if you take part in every round you will drive 5 different GT cars and 5 different Can Am cars. You are allowed a single Shift-R followed by a Stop’n’Go which must be taken within 1 lap. All starts will be from a loose staggered grid. There will be NO rolling starts this season, so please be careful . "Please ensure you are aware of the in-series penalty rules. Details are here. Drivers incurring a penalty will receive a PM informing them of this."Race list | iGOR | Server | T7_2 | IP address | 62.149.202.168 | Date | 01-03-2013 | Race time | Race starts at 09:30 UK time | Qualifying time | Between 30 and 60 minutes, starting no later than 21:00 UK time | Track | Rouen les Essarts | Mod | Can AM | Damage model | INT (Each driver is allowed a single Shift-R) | Race length | 27 laps | Replay | Available here |

I have been summoned to look after my grandchildren this weekend ( I guess that proves still do have SOME uses for my daughter?) so will not be at home for this race. It would probably have ended in a disco anyway . Have fun guys and be nice to each other.

I am also away so you are in Cookie's tender hands. I suspect that means we will run on UKGPL8. Have fun.

No, I suspect they're conferencing, to determine if race Servers can be modified, to add rubber bumpers around each car. Could be fun.

After installing the original Rouen from the CD, to avoid being ejected from the pits in a fireball, every time I joined the track. And, after testing it was working on UKGPL.8 as a practice server. I got the 'could not load track' message when trying to join the server. Should have put up with the firebal actually.....

That is seriously bizarre Geoff. Maybe try disguising your car next Rouen race, or enlist JonnyO's help?
For those receiving Uk TV, there's an item of possible racing interest on Ch4 at 4.30 today - just noticed it.

A new series and a new connection, for a semi-worn driver! Rather than embarrassing or harassing our front runners, I thought I'd lay back and await developments. As the race unfolded, what developed was a scuttle at the rear, and it's an embarrassing place to have one! By mid-race I was able to hang onto Nicky's tail, and was sizing up an opportunity to progress. The poor motor was taking a pounding though, and I'd wondered how much it would withstand, when it decided to without, which left me standing. After an S & G, and with rather a lonely prospect, I lost focus, spun a couple of times, and hung up my helmet. But it was fun while it lasted.

Nice, with the absence of 6 Nations Rugby; here is an afternoon of Come Dine With Me.

Well, the answer's obvious. It's for not watching the damned cookery program. That's why I overcook it at the track so often!
