Sorry Andreas, not quite sure what happened there. Coming down towards Schaetten I braked well before when I'd usually do so, conscious it was L1 and I was faster than usual because of your draft... from Baab's cockpit I see that my front left locked and smoked coming over the crest of the hill and after that I was a passenger. I think Phil got taken out as well, apologies.
Off the line I beat whoever was in p2 to the corner but saw that Markus had gone into the bales and had to avoid him bouncing back onto the track, which caused some issues too. All in all not a great night...

Very disappointing race for me. Arf lost control at Schatten on lap 1 and took out Andreas which blocked the track. I had to practically stop to wait for the carnage to settle down so I could pick a way past. The only space was on the right. Unfortunately Doni had the same idea; we were both unsighted and touched wheels. Very minor contact which Doni probably didn't feel but it was enough to nudge me into Andreas' Lotus. The GPL gods took over and decided to flip me upside down. No shift-R for me this season so race over.
No blame on Doni (or Arf for that matter) just bad luck for me. Hopefully have better luck next time.
Hope everyone has better luck for the rest of the race.

Just wanted to get more than half distance.
Had a mare in qually - pulled out on somebody - I did look but you weren't there and then you were...
Then I dropped my tea as I finished my first sighter lap, I was trying to move over out of the way of a Ferrari and hit the brakes accidentally. Sorry again.
As for the race, had a few laps with company but I was just aiming to race within my very diminished capabilities. Each time I pushed it I managed to spin... Still. Didn't get lapped and did 9 laps. Did NOT want to get in anyone's way so I pulled in and quit.
I am really struggling with motion sickness. Not sure why. So I wasn't feeling that good when I finished. Being even remotely racey seems a LONG way off.

Long, high-speed tracks --- Sachsenring, Brno, Solitude, and that ilk --- are tough on old Pepe. Forty-five corners? Come on, it's all I can do to figure out half the ones at Elkhart Lake, and it has only fourteen altogether. But I spent a lot of time here in practice, knowing that I'd always be seven seconds or more behind the leaders each lap but hoping that attrition would do its usual ugly thing. It did, and quickly. I tiptoed through each of the yard sales in the first two corners (Note: when a touring motorcyclist crashes out on a highway and every single thing formerly attached to his bike has been strewn out over two acres, we call that a "yard sale"). So there I was, not 500 yards into the race, and my modest 9th place grid position had been upgraded to fourth. At the start of L2 I heard the distinctive oinking of a BRM behind me, saw that it was Markus, and let him by as quickly as I could. I don't fight for positions with guys who can eat me for lunch. I was back then to fifth, watching him creep away while I began putting some distance between me and Dave, then later Billy. One of the leaders dropped out maybe with five laps to go, kicking me back into fourth, and by race's end I was forty seconds behind Doni and forty seconds ahead of Billy. It had been a very lonely race, the very essence of Solitude, and one without a single moment of butt-clenching drama. After a disastrous performance at Watkins Glen '71 yesterday in oAo (on my damned birthday), Solitude revived my spirits altogether. But I still don't think I'd vote for the track for next year's schedule. Did I mention how many corners it has?

Can't say I've had that problem Paul. It isn't screen flicker is it? I can't drive with 36FPS anymore. It wasn't too bad on small screens but with a big screen I need 60FPS. I know you are using the 60FPS patch but is your monitor able to cope?

I think it might be the 60 fps - sometimes the screen update gets very juddery and the frame rate suddenly drops awfully. I suspect it might be something to do with the anti-vitrus. I have a new Graphics card which is due to be deployed. Might help. What is a competitive time for Mexico btw. At least I don't have to learn that track. I just went and tried and was getting 1:57 in the BRM Brabham . Not in the 1:40's is it?

What a race. Win in my home race, unexpected.
Markus was incredibly fast in the training. I was happy to avoid him in Turn 1 after the start, finding a way on the very left and got the lead. I knew he would came back, still seeing his name in pribluda.
But first i was pressured by Bob, who was also fast in the brm. i messed up once, took the emergency exit. Rejoined in front of Markus. We closed up to Bob, who missed the emergency exit once and i believe he had to retire, sorry.
So Markus put pressure onto me and i tried to sustain this time, not messing up like in the last corner of Rouen. Markus tried an attack on the last lap, i did not watch the replay. I went airborne and was lucky not to turn over or lose a wheel. Very fair Markus waited for me to rejoin (as we had some gap to Doni) and did not attack another time for the last half lap.
Grats to all finishers, thx for Racing.

Grats to Bastian for a truly deserved victory! And grats to all finisher. I like Solitude a lot but it is rather unforgiving. Almost all corners are very fast and if you got one wheel on the grass you easily end up spinning and damaging your car. The intermediate damage model saved me at least twice. Not sure what happened to Bob but it looked like a very good race from him as well. It would be a real pity if he just suffered a disconnect. He would have deserved the victory as well!
My start was really bad. My RPM dropped at the start so I had a really slow getaway. Unfortunately it got worse and I missed my braking point for the first corner drifting into the hay bales. This caused a big mess at the start as other drivers tried to avoid me. Apologies for my mistake. After a couple of laps I was already third again and chased down Bastian. I tried to pressure him into a mistake. However, this only led to me making mistakes myself. I think I spun two or three times. One time I was even touching a barrier but without damage thanks to the lenient damage model.
In the last lap my plan was to attack Bastian after the long straight. I tried this once before but Bastian could defend the inside of the curve. So this time I wanted to get closer to Bastian before we reached the straight. When we arrived at Frauenkreutz it looked to my like he missed his line slightly, I tried to get closer but ended in tapping the back of his car. I was really happy Bastian could continue so I waited for him to rejoin the track in front of me.

There are certain times when this is simm drives me nuts and this was one of them . During practice I could get no better than low 1m46's but thought that was Ok for mid field racing , Made a decent start and managed to negotiate my way through the lap 1 disaster, when the dust settled that put me in a healthy position ahead of Dave C who was pushing hard in his Coop through the twizzy stuff but I had the power advantage on the straight bits ( I'm getting good at those ) and was managing to keep him behind , Then on the fast downhill bit my Repco engine exploded in a spectacular shower of valves and con rods , all went silent and Dave was through , I coasted to a halt then remembered shift R was allowed so called my mechs to come out and fit a new engine , this they did in record time and off i went again only for the same thing to happen at exactly the same place on the very next lap. Ive done quite a few laps of Soli and never had an engine blow up , I even had an extra high ratio 5th fitted to keep the rpm's low on the fast stuff , all I can think is there is a hump at this part of the track when the rear end gets light and becomes unstuck , allowing the revs to go off the scale . But why t should happen twice in this race on succesive laps and never had this happen before your guess is as good as mine ! Enjoyed the race while it lasted , grats to all who finished , tough luck those who didn' t
