Moderator's Report

Only the one incident on this server, in the Red Zone, and no others reported. Keep up the good work gents.

Server replay time: 0

A very similar incident to the one on the other server, however, in this instance contact was made. Joe (Miniblood) gets a good start and rounds up Jonny O to the outside of the track on the normal racing line. Jason Blito equally starts well and zips past Johnny up the inside. Both continue on their respective courses until full side contact is made.
I'm hard pressed to attribute any blame here and it seems to be a case of right place, wrong time X2. Neither would have had a clue where the other was as they were both traveling on opposite sides of the VERY wide straight. To make it worse, both seemed to be judging clearance off Jonny O who was mid track, and would have been masking any possible sighting of each other, until they met at the point of impact. Jason's corner entry was pretty sloppy and a tad fast, which forced him to drift off the racing line at approximately mid corner. But there is nothing in the rules about sloppy driving, luckily, otherwise we'd all be on suspension. I'll insert a caution here, to remind all drivers in this situation to take all possible steps to maintain their own side of the track until other cars nearby become visible. I'm putting this down to an unfortunate racing incident, as 2 cars into one track space simply do not go. To give penalties here would be counter-productive in an effort to produce good racing. And for Mini...put it down to experience.

Moderator's Report

A relatively good start to the season in the Porsche Cup, with only one reported incident....which was part of the 3 first lap incidents due moderation as per the Red Zone rule. Well done gents, overall excellent driving. Let's try to keep it that way for the remainder.....

Server replay time: 0

Nicky turns in to turn 1 from about mid track, while M. Zampedri, starting from an inside grid runs straight up the inside. Nicky's replay shows contact, but the server replay shows Zampedri to be 2-3ft clear of the rear quarter of Nicky's car. Further evidence of warp being the fact that had the two cars actually made contact, both would normally have spun off. As it was, Mr. Zampedri continued unimpeded, suggesting a decent wallop of warp. Heavy warp seems to be more likely in a packed, startline environment.....so leaving a little more space between cars, especially in Pro events seems prudent.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m01s

Sky loses it and spins across the track. Paul Markey (Screwcutter) is very slow to react and hits Sky amidships. Paul might have reacted faster but contact was unavoidable. The Chief Moderator (Vosblod) decide summary justice is due and rear ends Paul spinning him off - unavoidable prang for the boss.

Server replay time: 0h03m00s

Fulvio has an exciting few corners. He hits Natan from behind but they are both OK. It is Fulvio's responsibility to avoid the contact but he is experienced enough to know that and this is just a gentle tap.

Server replay time: 0h03m16s

This time Fulvio gives Natan a big whack, but Natan has lost it under braking and contact is unavoidable. The two of them collect Hendy as an afterthought.

wheel problem (ffb very different) and No shifer Sad

I tried to play with Paddle ...... i think it wad a bad idea !

Plus i had very very very bad FPS , strange, i have this problem only on your server. I don't know why.

Frezzed while I was having a nice battle with Pedro  Sad
I hope my freeze didn't affect anyone.

M.Zampedri avevi una connessione balorda stasera, andavi e venivi in continuazione, impossibile starti vicino. Tu non ti sei accorto di nulla?

M.Zampedri had a bad connection tonight, not easy to stay behind him.

Quite an eventful race for me.  Qualified at the back as expected Roll Eyes.  There were some very quick drivers out there!!

First 15 or so laps were steady, thanks to the slipstream I managed to hang on to the back of the freight train.  Then I had a battle with Evil for a few laps.  I suspect there was something wrong with his car because he gradually dropped down the field until he was just in front of me.  I tried a few places to get by but Clive was making me go the long way round and I just couldn't make a decent attempt at a pass.  But then I managed to get a good exit on the last turn and got along side over the finish line.  Clive had the inside line for the kink and I tried to stay wide but it wasn't a line I had practiced and I clipped the grass.  I did about 4 360s and managed to continue with no damage but by then Clive was long gone.

Then I had a dice with Johnny O  Smiley.  We swapped places a couple of times and at one stage I passed him under yellow flags, at least I think I did, I didn't see any flags but there was a car stuck on the track just after I got past so there should have been flags.  Anyway I pulled over onto the grass to let Johnny retake the place.  A few laps later I got past again but before long the leaders were on us and I pulled over to let them through.  I didn't realise the third car was Johnny and so I ended up behind him again!  After a while I got past again but ended up going wide on the exit of T5 which caused me to get into a massive "tank slapper" and I couldn't regain control and ended up marooned on the track on the exit of T6.  At that point Johnny came round the corner and had nowhere to go.  A collision was unavoidable and unfortunately I ended up on my roof and couldn't continue.  Thankfully Johnny could.

Grats to the leaders, they were very quick.  Unlucky Arf Arf Arf,  I saw you spin and you must not have been able to continue (I noticed you disconnected slightly later).  Don't know what happened to Fran.  I think Pastit Porsche will do better next time  scooter

Thanks Thornton..... those times was very busy!

But I took the race the Blito, then do not have much to celebrate, was the beginning of the race and I had to be more careful.
 I'm sorry Blito.

Server 1 and Server 2 are just the same. The reason that Server 1 is posted second is that it takes longer for me to download the data from T7. I don't think it is the most important thing in the world.

Would all drivers PLEASE ensure that they read the race posts carefully. There was some confusion about which server was which and what the passwords were but the passwords are different so that you can be certain you are joining the right server - please ensure you know which server you are meant to join (it will change race by race) and what the relevant password is. I don't mind setting this up and modding it but it would be helpful if you could all come prepared. Pens, paper and set square!

Hi Nicky,

Where did you get the car graphics from that are in your photo album? They certainly look a lot better than the all white cars  Grin

I found server 1 to be quite good, from here in Oz at least, that was a concern I had when I joined the series, I know how a bad connection can make the racing quite unpleasant, there were only 1 or 2 cars with bad lag, which made getting past iffy.
I'll second Svenvangent's comments regarding the drivers being lapped, they did a great job of letting the guys through, thanks  Smiley

See you all in South Africa

Cheers,
Ron.

I had a long and quiet race. I don't say as usual because in the past I've had my share of accidents with stressed pilots who don't realize I'm actually moving .
My main concern was to stay out of what most of you guys see as your private Path to Glory. I got exhausted at some time by the endless calculations that come with racing : "considering his speed, mine and the probability to hit a Kanguroo, when will I see him again and how many times  will I have this opportunity ? "

Exhausted, yes, but not completely unconscious.  I do remember completing the race . I did see  Tristan smoke his tires in front of a rather indifferent crowd .
You can imagine the look on my face when I read "disco" on the report table.  I'm still in shock .  How will I stand the look of my children, their eyes getting slowly filled with tears finally overflowing  over the remote control of their Playstation ? How ?

Hey Pierre
don't bother about that "disco" (disconnected), GPL does this as you were 5 laps down, this does not mean you are disqualified  Wink
