Moderator's Report

Only the one incident on this server, in the Red Zone, and no others reported. Keep up the good work gents.

Server replay time: 0

A very similar incident to the one on the other server, however, in this instance contact was made. Joe (Miniblood) gets a good start and rounds up Jonny O to the outside of the track on the normal racing line. Jason Blito equally starts well and zips past Johnny up the inside. Both continue on their respective courses until full side contact is made.
I'm hard pressed to attribute any blame here and it seems to be a case of right place, wrong time X2. Neither would have had a clue where the other was as they were both traveling on opposite sides of the VERY wide straight. To make it worse, both seemed to be judging clearance off Jonny O who was mid track, and would have been masking any possible sighting of each other, until they met at the point of impact. Jason's corner entry was pretty sloppy and a tad fast, which forced him to drift off the racing line at approximately mid corner. But there is nothing in the rules about sloppy driving, luckily, otherwise we'd all be on suspension. I'll insert a caution here, to remind all drivers in this situation to take all possible steps to maintain their own side of the track until other cars nearby become visible. I'm putting this down to an unfortunate racing incident, as 2 cars into one track space simply do not go. To give penalties here would be counter-productive in an effort to produce good racing. And for Mini...put it down to experience.

Moderator's Report

A relatively good start to the season in the Porsche Cup, with only one reported incident....which was part of the 3 first lap incidents due moderation as per the Red Zone rule. Well done gents, overall excellent driving. Let's try to keep it that way for the remainder.....

Server replay time: 0

Nicky turns in to turn 1 from about mid track, while M. Zampedri, starting from an inside grid runs straight up the inside. Nicky's replay shows contact, but the server replay shows Zampedri to be 2-3ft clear of the rear quarter of Nicky's car. Further evidence of warp being the fact that had the two cars actually made contact, both would normally have spun off. As it was, Mr. Zampedri continued unimpeded, suggesting a decent wallop of warp. Heavy warp seems to be more likely in a packed, startline environment.....so leaving a little more space between cars, especially in Pro events seems prudent.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m01s

Sky loses it and spins across the track. Paul Markey (Screwcutter) is very slow to react and hits Sky amidships. Paul might have reacted faster but contact was unavoidable. The Chief Moderator (Vosblod) decide summary justice is due and rear ends Paul spinning him off - unavoidable prang for the boss.

Server replay time: 0h03m00s

Fulvio has an exciting few corners. He hits Natan from behind but they are both OK. It is Fulvio's responsibility to avoid the contact but he is experienced enough to know that and this is just a gentle tap.

Server replay time: 0h03m16s

This time Fulvio gives Natan a big whack, but Natan has lost it under braking and contact is unavoidable. The two of them collect Hendy as an afterthought.

Hmm Pierre - I have been to quite a lot od Discos with GPL - See you in there at Mexico Wink

Replays are up on the UKGPL3 website under the Porsche Super Cup

Please check the tables and let me know if you believe ther to be any errors. With remapping the teams and two servers, importing the results correctly is a bit of a black art...

Thanks to Cookie for pointing out an error - it has been rectified hopefully.

Sorry team
Had a warp/invisible-car crash near the start and after a few guard-rail encounters the engine finally blew up

Despite yet another engine failure in a Porsche I really enjoy this track. Great high pressure cat and mouse race chasing Axel round the track. Sorry about the coming together, my fault. I waited, hoping you would be good to go as I did not want to inherit the position like that. As you set off again I settled in behind only to blow my engine as we came round to start the next lap. Great driving and I'm glad to see you finished on the podium.

Apologies to my team mates Geoff and Al, for my engine failure but I sense you had your woes as well, better luck next time guys.

But I took the race the Blito, then do not have much to celebrate, was the beginning of the race and I had to be more careful.
 I'm sorry Blito.

Don't be daft! You made a prefectly legal move. I just failed to see you make it ! Lets blame the cars appalling lack of rear vision!

Hi Nicky,Where did you get the car graphics from that are in your photo album? They certainly look a lot better than the all white cars

To be honest , I cant trace back where I got those painted Porsches from  .
Some updates , here and there , at SRMZ and , myself , I did some simple painting to every single Porsche appears inside dat.file , at early stage after release of the GTmod.

So quit an confusingly mixture .
Well , I can upload my whole Posche folder . BUT atm I wouldn’t recommend to use , cause :

FIRST TIME EVER , I got some Porsches with unclear front windows , during online race !!!
( unfortunately the one I was in comes even with red shimmery left side windows ) .

Anyone able to shed  light  upon that above mentioned issue ?

Sorry for my team mates, Evil and Miniblood, I made a really bad race  Embarrassed
Surfer's Paradise is Racer's Hell for me after my bad results in GT and Porsche Cup !

I hope it will be better in East London ...
East London and Surfer's Paradise are same kind of tracks : long straight followed by a difficult and quick right turn and then several turns like esses. So I m not so confident  Undecided

Congratulations to Tristan and Maxime : la patrie est fière de vous/our country is proud of you, still another race like that and you'll get the Legion d'honneur  Cheesy
Congratulations to Axel for his third place, and to all finishers !

Hi guys !  .. Grin...was a realy good race with 36 laps with intence fights.....
Second on the grid I miss my start at the green flag and lost 2 places ..... and then the 6 first laps was really fun , and with those 3 porsche ahead of me was a very nice show .....so Sergio was leading, chased by Evil ,Raoni and me....but unfortunatly , at the lap 6 , Raoni touch the rear of Evil'car who just fly out of the track Shocked .....I find a way between thoses cars and take the second place .....then start a regular chase on Sergio ....I finally joint him at the lap 14 , and put a maximum pressure on him .....he go out of track at lap 15 and come back on track in third position .....then , it's Raoni who chased me 1 or 2s behind me......Ihad need all my concentration to keep the gap between us....finaly , Raoni miss the T1 and lost a weel ....." la messe est dite ! "....and Ifinish the 7 last laps a little alone .....
congratulation to my team ....Max cross the line at a very good second place and Pierre finish 7 !  ......" bravo les gars Smiley "
....thx to the org. and all pilotes....

Well, I began with JonnyO's wonderfull set of brasilian Porsches. This works fine, but in some cars the side windows got a little color too.

When I got a "patch" for clean Porsche windows, I found out that there are different versions!
First one just removes all glas from the car!
When I posted them in SRMZ, Ginetto posted his version with clean glas. But I learned, they do not work with this colored car set!

So I decided to just use the standard dull cars, to have the clean windshield  Wink

It was a great race.  laugh

During the first few laps, I was under the pressure of Arf × 3 before he disappears ...   Shocked
Then I ran into Sergio. Good fight for a few laps, very fine defense  Wink, but unfortunately we hit ourselves, on the long left corner. Fifty - fifty I think. But I was luckier than him. Sorry.  Undecided

I benefit from the problems of the leaders to finish second, great result with Tristan first  Cool ! And Pierre makes the job of rallying the finish  Wink ! Great team, guys !   Grin

The dirty windscreen is caused by dirt.  The dirt must be on an online carskin, which you've not driven until now.  The red side window must be blood, caused by the dirty front window?

To fix this, look at the car number in the replay.  Next, go find that skin in your Porsche folder - you should see the problem there.  Cut the roof from another car, and paste it, with it's good windows, onto the crime scene.  Once finished, you'll need to find another excuse for more blood. scared

Then I had a battle with Evil for a few laps.  I suspect there was something wrong with his car because he gradually dropped down the field until he was just in front of me.  I tried a few places to get by but Clive was making me go the long way round and I just couldn't make a decent attempt at a pass.  But then I managed to get a good exit on the last turn and got along side over the finish line.  Clive had the inside line for the kink and I tried to stay wide but it wasn't a line I had practiced and I clipped the grass.  I did about 4 360s and managed to continue with no damage but by then Clive was long gone.

Sorry to be so defensive Phil  Roll Eyes. But after I got punted over the armco on lap 6 my car was way down on power and I was only just getting into 5th at the very end of the S/F straight. I was driving all the twisty bits by trying to carry as much speed as I could through all corners just to keep my laptimes reasonable. I felt sure that once you nailed the final 2 corners and came onto the straight in my slipstream it would all be over. So. the only thing I could do was move across early and make you go the long way around. Incidentally, I was also trying to protect Dave Rainier ( my team mate) who for the first part of our battle was just ahead of me. I did wonder if there had been some warp contact when you went off as you were momentarily out of view in my mirrors even though I tried to hold a tight inside line around T1.

After your "incident" I was pretty much on my own until the last few laps when I suddenly came upon Ronnie and Axel recovering from their accident. Ronnie promptly threw several pistons at me as we turned onto the main straight and a lap or so later Axel decided to trim the grass.
A lap or two later, Tristan came past with Raonni in hot pursuit. I tried to follow but the lack of speed on the straight meant I was dropping back steadily until Raonni went off rather spectacularly at T1, Suddenly I realise that I was on for 3rd place and a podium place!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked. with only about 5 laps to go. I had almost given up at half distance because the car was so down on power, that I felt I could not hope race anyone and would probably be in the way. But I struggled on for the Wazas.

I knew that I had to unlap myself from Raonni who was now limping around in his 3 wheeled Porker to claim that 3rd place, so I kept the pace up after I had passed Axel and son ha my sweaty hands on that 3rd place.....
Then I think, the strain of pushing that damaged engine to the limit for 30 odd laps took its toll and there was a sudden silence on the main straight  :'( with 2 laps to go.

Grats to Tristran and Sergio maybe next time I can give you something to race against. Also to Cookie and Jonny who just about held their cars together to claim well deserved points.

I hope we keep the teams together and continue to get full grids for these races. I think the Wazas might need some secret training in survival techniques so that we can collect more points  Wink

Quali
I was a little under pressure cause when I entered the server there were only 29 minutes left...
The first 2 stints were not satisfiying as my times were far from my possibilities!
So I did my 3rd stint knowing it will be the last lap. Yep, it was! 3rd race this season I managed this!

Race
Starting from 9th, my good start made me 7th after T1  Grin
I followed Arf and had Ronnie behind me. After some laps Arf had managed to pass Max who was holding us up a little in these first laps.
When I was preparing my move to Max, Clive came out of the hill between T4/5 and rejoined between.
Clives engine obviously had a damage, what gave Max the chance to to increase the gap to me and I had no longer his tow.... Embarrassed
I had all the time Ray in my rear window and we had a phantastic battle running which kept my adrenaline on high level.
Each time I had made the gap to a more save, I met Pierre in the last sector, what made it easier for Ray to come close again   Angry
Quote
Not your fault Pierre!
You only happened to be there, you did your best to keep out of the way...

Quote
I just reviewed our battle Ray: phantastic! maximum FUN!
My early braking must have given you lots of adrenaline Grin
In lap 36 Ray just kissed my back into T4 and made me spin around and touch the armco.
Quote
No bad feelings about that Ray! Wink Your damage was worse! And you were a gentleman to let me recover in front!
But Clive had passed us and I had gotten an engine damage that seemed not to be as bad as Clives.
So I was chasing Clive, who had lots of laps more experience with his six or seven cylinder engine Grin
Sorry for him as his engine exploded prior to mine, which did it in the last lap after T2 and let me rolling up to T5, where I finished the race in 3rd position...

Sorry for the bad luck of my teammates of the SHADOWS, Sergio and Jason. But there are 9 more races to come!
