My best time in Crystal Palace is 52,8 sec.
And I am far to be an alien !
I'm sure Hristo, Tristan or Attilio should be able to run under 51 sec, here.

Do we race tonight?
I hope so - it's been 2 days since my last signal loss.  Andreas had a Server up for a practice race earlier, so watch out for T7.

I was a bit worried about getting in the way. 4 seconds off the pace and quite pleased with myself... until Hristo took another two seconds off. Started off last with Bob just ahead and stayed with him for the first lap. Very cautious about rear ending anyone and then as I accelerated away from T1... BANG! Famous Lotus reliability Sad Didn't over-rev it.

Maybe Joe was looking down and thinking I shouldn't really be in this company!

RIP mate.

I never raced with Joe, but of course I followed his career on the forum. He seemed to be bright, incisive and very fast. My races were steady, safe and lucky. I'm really very surprised and humbled to end up on top.. Well done to all finishers of both races, especially Andreas who did all the laps available.

Well, short race for me, as I blew the engine while sitting pretty in fourth..Frankly, not the best track for the 67s I think, but then again if you pick a 6 geared car to go around it you cant really complain can you  Roll Eyes?

Grats to winner, podium and survivors. And, of course, to Andy, winner of the second JS Trophy.

R.I.P. Joe, we will be back next year.

I wanted to take the Lotus because Joe used to drive it and I guess he enjoyed it, but I haven't driven it in ages so I was struggling initially to get a feel for it and to set it up. Glad I managed a sub 50 right at the end, it was my aim.

The start went OK and I wanted for Ronnie and the rest to follow me closely and perhaps figure out where they lose time so it could be helpful to them, but while cruising down towards T1 2 laps into the race, I slid wide at very slow speed, about 30 km/h, clipped the wall and suddenly lost 2 wheels on the left hand side. Go figure.  Roll Eyes

Still, it was nice to throw the Loti around in Qualifying and I hope everyone else had a good race in Joe's memory.

No problem Ronnie .  Smiley Think also that it is well deserved to Andy. Congratulation for that.
So I am very satisfied to still take the second spot in this short championship to the honour for the young man!

So long

It's not every day we get to perform at the Palace.

It was lap 3 or 4, when I attacked Cookie at Park Curve.  His car seemed to park at the apex, while my tyres were fully warmed.  So an apology owed for a blatant rear end shunt - it seemed to me you could've continued?  I dare say I deserved a lockup at North Tower, but received worse torture, as my car had been seriously bent.

My crabbing Lotus developed a mind of it's own, and attempted a scenic tour of London.  This made life interesting for Bob, who showed much restraint, while trying to overcome my wounded animal.  I finally put it out of it's misery against the sleepers, after numerous attempts.  The car seemed to have all the strength, that Hristo's was lacking - go figure?  But the knighthood will have to wait awhile longer. Undecided

Really, really disappointed to miss this race for all sorts of reasons, not least of which was because it was for Joe.

Grats to Andy on a well deserved win and to all those who survived the less than forgiving barriers around this tight track. As Hristo discovered there is a cunningly disguised wheel removal tool on the outside of T1. I too discovered that in practice...there is another at the bottom of the incline T5 if anyone is interested.

I had subjected my PC to some serious internal examination and reconstruction over the weekend and had tested the results with a few laps practice around "the palace".
I was getting low 51 sec laps with 60 laps of fuel on board, so I thought I might be in with a chance of holding on to the magnificent trophy for yet another year if luck was with me.

I should have known better! when do I get lucky??? I discovered too late that I could not connect to the server either via IGOR or IP and was left frustrated and muttering in a darkened room as the minutes ticked down to the start.

At least there was a reasonable grid assembled and some good racing from what I read in the posts above.

Grats to Andy who will now be booking his Goodwood Revival tickets and getting his best suit ironed ready for the trophy presentation in September. Better clear a LARGE space in the trophy cabinet Andy!!

As it happens, I had already booked up to go to the Revival on the Saturday. I expect I will be seeing a few of you there then.

Great news Andy  Grin looking forward to meeting up with you again. Any chance that Magnus might be going, have not had contact with him for too long.

That looks like the signal for all those planning to go this year to post their intentions and get booking....

anyone camping for the weekend this year???
