S30 Specials Series Trophy - 69extra Race - IndianapolisThis is a fun series where we do the big events, so let's start with the USA's biggest motorsport event . Please check the Season 30 details regarding rules and the Specials Series Trophy pages in particular. Make shure you use the track wich has pit signs to allow the fuel stop patch! Get it here: http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=3794#entry119557Handicaps: Heavies/Priv/Amateurs have a free car choice and unlimited shift+r. 1 fuel stop . Lights/Pro/Works have 1 fuel stop + 1x stop+go. IMPORTANT For this race we will have a rolling start like NASCAR, but in single file! The leader will do the first lap with ~125mph/200kph and the followers will keep a distance of ~20m. The race will be open in the apex of turn 4!
For fuel stop / pit stop - pit entrance and exit
The pits can be entered after the last turn, but be aware of the high speed to not overshoot your pit sign for refuel. The mandatory s+g can be taken anywhere in the pits.
The Pro/Works extra stop-n-go MUST be performed BEFORE the last lap!
EXITING the pits you have to use the pit lane and may not enter the track before the backstraight!!! Any earlier exit will cause a DQ!

This looks like it will be a lot of fun, Axel! I'll look forward to it.
Could I suggest that some rules be posted re pit-in and pit-out procedures? Without strict guidelines, heaven only knows what carnage may result.

Thanks for that, Axel! Re pit-out: I recall being in a Thunder Car event at IMS quite some years ago and the rules for the league clearly stated that participants must use the full exit lane and join on the back straight. One top gun runner failed to follow this and roared straight out onto the track at the end of the pit wall. Earned him a DQ. Another suggestion: I'm always looking for a way to get one up on the opposition...legally, you understand ...and I see a clear one here. That would be to do my mandatory stop-n-go on the last lap. In doing so, I wouldn't have to get up to speed via the long pit exit rule. Stopping just short of the S/F line, all I would have to do is drop the clutch and move a few metres to score a finish. It would save an enormous amount of time. How about a rule stating that the stop-n-go MUST be performed BEFORE the last lap? Also, I note that Achim's track.ini file has the grid lined up two abreast. As we are to adopt a single-file formation for the pacer lap, would you like me to write a grid that aligns everyone in a single-file formation when they join the track? I write all the grid formations for the oAo and have done so for quite some years. Rather than posting a file, I could merely do a copy/paste in a post here. Piece of cake.

@Doni and all I think the pit exit is yet defined, so any earlier exit will cause a DQ!Yes, the stop-n-go MUST be performed BEFORE the last lap! As we do a rolling start, imo the grid formation is less important, but I will edit the server track.ini

The groove should be turned off within GPL before entering the race!Doing this will show you a perfect line here following the tire marks, the "groove line" is very bad and drivers following it will cause dangerous situations!!! PS The leader will do the first lap with ~125mph/200kph and the followers will keep a distance of ~25m.

Ok, what do you when you stop in the pits and the patch doesn't work and it kicks you out of the race?
Cuz that just happened.
So entire result is in protest as of now.

Sorry to read this Dean. Patch worked here flawlessly both on practice and race. As for my race it's just too hot here for such an activity, plus never ever try a g27 pedal barefooted -- it really hearts on ovals I retired after half distance. My speed was usual oval form, nowhere near to real competition Grats guys on your pace, gl for the rest of the race!
