Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0

At the race start, Tristan (aka MagicArsouille) largely cut the original pitstraight where the armco should be installed.

He only did it at the start and it gave him no advantage (in fact Tristan made a poor start) ...but Tristan should read and understand the rules before the races !

This incident has not been reported so no penalty will be given, but I think it should be mentioned :

at 1m44s, Francesco overtook Rich on the inside but then was moving across to take up the racing line before he had cleared the overtaken car. Rich was already hugging the kerb and Fran moved over into him.
This is a typical side by side contact made by Francesco.

Server replay time: 0h07m55s

From 7m 55s and during this 13 seconds Rich made a bad rejoin on track in front of Francesco and then a side by side contact with Rainier.

Rich was seriously warping (it has been confirmed by several drivers), that should explain these mistakes.

For the next races, Rich should check connection and don't use wifi connection to router.

Season 34 Historic Trophy – Round 1 –  Kyalami

For the first round of the season we go to a familiar track. Kyalami Racing Circuit (from Kyalami, My home in Zulu) is a motor racing circuit located in Midrand, Gauteng province, South Africa. The circuit has been used for Grand Prix and Formula One races and has hosted the South African Grand Prix many times

IMPORTANT: it is policy of UKGPL to have the original pitstraight armco installed at this original track! Failure to apply the pitwall & drive in that space may result in disqualification. Follow these instructions to restore the wall if you have a mod that has removed it:
METHOD 1: To place a wall between the pits and the track, rename or remove the kyalami.trk and kyalami.3do files from your kyalami folder.
METHOD 2: To reinstall the original Papyrus Armco, rename or remove the Armco_s.mip file from your kyalami folder.

Race List = iGOR
Server = UKGPL_9
IP = see iGOR
Race date = Sunday 22-01-2019
Time = 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT)
Track = Papyrus
Race length = 37 Laps (50 minutes)
Variant = 1966
Password: see above
 Driver lists and divisional rules can be found on the championship standings page
60fps patch used   = 60fpsV2newmod
Damage Model = Pro
Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes

There is no Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Remember that lap 1 incidents carry an additional penalty place.

The chassis token system is explained on the Historics Trophy standings page.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

A driver must have sufficient tokens for the chassis he drives in the race.  Any driver who does not have sufficient tokens will be disqualified from the result and his tokens will be set to zero.

The chassis a driver uses in qualifying are disregarded when determining his token spend.
Note:  This is to cater for the instances when a driver either does not start or inadvertently joins with the wrong chassis and subsequently rejoins the server in another.

Any tokens not spent at the end of the season are ignored and are not used to determine championship positions in the event of a tie.

PRO rules means Shift-Rs are not allowed at any time and the damage model is realistic.

Drivers must complete 50% race distance to score.

Available Tokens:
Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

Can we just have clarification on who are the Pro & Amateur driver. (I'm fairly clear where I am).

Also, is it correct that Ams will start with 20 tokens.

Thanks.

Was there a mass disco last night or, just a major incident? Half of the field appears to have vanished very early in the race.

Grats to Tris on the win and to Andreas and Mark on getting to the finish.

I was really enjoying the battle with Andreas and Tris in the early laps and then when Andreas dropped away it was a 100% battle with Tris at great pace.

I made a small error and lost a little ground, but was confident that I could close the gap, especially with the slipstream, until I looked at the fuel situation.

I thought that I had enough fuel loaded at the start, but I think that the pace was so fast in those early laps that things were obviously not going to work if I continued at that pace. I was sorry that I had to back off and cruise to the flag because the battle with Tris was epic and the last few laps could have been huge fun. At the end of the race I crossed the line with 2 ltrs of fuel, so backing off was the right move to preserve 2nd spot.

A rather uninspiring start to the season. Spent lots of tokens on the 3 Litre Ferrari, but still the best part of 2 seconds off the PB in the big Brabham. I was in a close battle with Fran on Lap 2 & missed my brake point. Slid off the track & tangled with the armco. The armco easily won the argument with my left front tyre.
I've never been able to work out Road America so I'll take a cheap car for the next outing.

No mass disco.
Just a Rich Welsh disco in my case...
First he made a bad re-join on the track just in front of Francesco and me coming.
Then, some hundred meters after, he turned as he was alone on the track ...unfortunately I was there !

Rich, if you are really rich maybe you could spent some money to buy mirrors (and/or glasses) ?

I will open 2 racing incidents and ask someone else to moderate them (i cannot moderate 'cause I am directly impacted)

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.  There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

Available Tokens:
Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start

As wrote Billy, it's not working at the moment.
We have to wait.
