Indeed an ectic start with many engines blown and some crash to avoid, I lost concentration and lost it at T3 rebounding from the haybail on Clive car. I'm very sorry Clive, I hope you could continue in your favourite car , absolutely not mine

A Honda that started in front of me got stuck at the start. I had to stand still, waiting for the blow, which finally came. In spite of everything I was able to continue (miracle) and I had a beautiful race with Enrique and Doni. And as I had a better car than both of them (they had Hondas), I was able to keep up with them with the Ferrari. Congratulations to the podium. And thanks for organising this!

Two engine blow-ups on the grid certainly messed up the start. Apart from the 2 terminal engine problems, the only driver to loose out was Bastian. Very unlucky mate it was a lottery at the start. Your contact was very minor compared with the others but you lost a wheel. The GPL gods are sometimes very unfair.
I had a good battle with Evil. We never diced for position but we traded lap times and mistakes before I managed to get ahead and Evil faded. Not sure what happened, I was trying my best to put you under pressure and you eventually cracked? P8 was as much as I could have hoped for in the BRM. At least I've got it out of the way with some points on the board.

I noticed to dropped off the server in practice a few times, in fact you only just managed to reconnect just before the race started. Is your ping high? I have set the max ping to 500mS but if it is causing problems for you I will not set a max ping. I have just changed ISP, I need to know if the performance of my server has changed.

Actually, despite my absurd mistake, I really liked this race. As I always say, I like to run to compete, and if victory is in that competition, welcome. After my mistake I fell in position 7 after having been at 4 for some time. I loved the handling that Claudio had in that Ferrari, and doni with his slingshot too, spectacular way of defending himself against Claudio and running without making a single mistake (I made the mistakes myself) a big round of applause for the great navone, who made my afternoon, and left me very happy, a 7th position that I loved, it's nice to run like this. congratulations to the podium, and a real shame what happened at the start, jonnie....

I think the problem was with me Phil. After about four disconnections at practice I decided to restart my router just in time to rejoin at the end of practice and I had no hiccups at the race. In fact, I noticed my ping to your server was at around 250ms, the best I can get from UK, so it is as best as ever Now the race, a 2nd place after a shitty driving as I'm not feeling 100%, I'll take it. See you next one!

No problem at all qualy or before the server.....and then at the start at 7000 rpm the stomp ends its life......if you fall into the GPL statistic, be satisfied. Congratulations to the podium!!!!
Even so, very happy with the quality!

Grats to Baab for the win and to the podium guys. Yes the start was indeed, eventful I got clipped by a Ferrari, who I think was also avoiding another stranded car. That dropped me back a few places and then just as i got all the wheels rolling in the right direction...Fulvio ambushed me too lol No worries Fulvio I could see that directional control was not in your hands But those two early contacts had done some damage and I could not rely on stability under braking. The Honda is always a bit tail heavy, but when the brakes are trying to snatch the car to one side it just makes it doubly hard. I managed the problem for many laps and passed a few cars that expired, then I passed Phil when he went building sand castles. I was watching the gap to Phil and trying to just keep him out of my slipstream. Strangely, although the Honda was a total nightmare under braking, it was rock solid under acceleration and I could tippy toe into corners and power out. I should have been focused on the road ahead and not on my mirrors and that is when it all went wrong. I clipped one of the tyres and that really screwed the handling. If it had been bad before, now it was almost undriveable. Phil was past and the harder I tried to catch him, the more mistakes I made. I tried to stay off the racing line for the cars that were lapping me, but I finally screwed the engine so that it was as broken as the suspension by failing to engage 5th before the jump on the straight. The pointy red thing on the dashboard went hard to the right and flew out of the cockpit...seconds later as I approached the final turn it all went quiet

Grats to Baab for the win and to the podium guys.
Cheers Clive! Well, seems like I was really lucky last night, far enough up the grid that I avoided all the stranded cars, Alien Jonny blowing it off the line, there was no chance of running with him, then I managed to survive a couple of offs too. I did a bit of praccy for this one and was encouraged by my pace in the Ferrari, being able to match the UKGPL records, so thought it was worth taking a faster car...until I saw Jonny's pace in the Lotus! I lead away from the start with Greg right on my case, where he would stay until I crashed at the esses at about mid distance. The crash left me in Greg's path, I wasn't sure where to go and unfortunately he couldn't avoid me and we both went off, but luckily we could also continue. I didn't have any noticeable damage and set off after Greg with Leo (I think) now right on my tail. Greg was flying now clearly trying to pull a gap but after a lap or two he also got it wrong in the esses and went off. After another couple of laps Leo must have had a moment and I suddenly had 6 secs which I could then manage to the end. So a lucky and rare win, the stars aligned n that! Pleased to get some points on the board. There were also some sterling drives further down the order by those in slower machinery, great effort guys. Cheers for organizing Bob.

Congrats Bob and Leo! It´s a shame Jonnyś engine failed. I could have got around him better if I knew that happened. I thought he missed the flag so I was a little slow at the start trying to let him stay in front of me. None of us had anything for him with that excellent qualifying time. I only got 3 or 4 laps of practice before qualifying. Just enough to see that the setup I had was decent. I´ve driven this track many times so I know it well. I did most of this event from muscle memory. Without that it could have been a nightmare. I was never consistent entering the esses and I struggled with my line exiting the last turn. I lead away from the start with Greg right on my case, where he would stay until I crashed at the esses at about mid distance.
I think we were near the 1/3 point. Had you waited until the second half of the race to give me the lead, I might have fared better. I wasn´t ready for the pressure yet. I´m glad I only clipped you a little bit. I was at a point I couldn´t make any quick maneuver or I would have lost control immediately. I´m glad our cars didn´t suffer much if any. I was a little disappointed that eliminated the gap I had on Leo. It wasn´t easy to get that gap. Once in the lead I immediately lowered my lap time but I think I overheated my left rear tire. My inconsistency entering the esses bit me very quickly. I had another bad off just after the midpoint of the race. I missed my braking point for the slow righthander before the back straight. I hit something on the left and then rubbed the wall on the left. I was surprised my car didn´t seem to suffer from it. The Ferrari has always been a durable car for me. It was pleasing to get a podium spot while a little disappointing I couldn´t hold P2. I finished as well or better than I hoped. With good consistency I had a nice shot at P1 or P2. Thanks for the fun guys.

Great job by our podium finishers. Well done, chaps.
I never would have predicted a P5 finish for myself and to be sure, the misfortune of others figured large in that.
Things went sour early for so many. Jonny's Cosworth failing a handful of metres into the race. A finger of guilt needs to be pointed my way as I clipped Clay's Ferrari and sent him into a spin. He was slow to get away thanks to Bot's lethargic launch. Sorry for that, Clay. I didn't even know that I nudged you til viewing the replay cap. So many others had dramas thanks to that contact. Sorry, gys.
A major development on Lap07 was Ricky spinning away a solid placing in his Honda in the Esses allowing me to move up a place. I held my breath as I went by fearing a repeat of the Assen horror last season when he pulled across the road directly in front of my Cooper on the pit straight and I hit him broadside on the far side of 100mph.
I was running well til a slight gaffe on Lap08 as I dropped a wheel onto the apron in T9 and lost a second in what must be some sticky grass. This let Clay close and for many a lap following, I saw his Ferrari getting ever bigger in my mirrors. That he finished the first lap fully 10 seconds behind me and was now emerging as a threat is a testament to a brilliant recovery from that grid cockup. I noted a white car not far behind Clay's Ferrari and figured that this must be Ricky in recovery mode.
The laps were reeling off and I was having to push quite hard to maintain the gap to Clay. It was diminishing slowly and I could only hope that he didn't pick up the slipstream to close in over the last laps. Made it to the flag with barely a second in hand and Ricky hot on his tail. A quite satisfying and enjoyable result if rather a lot of work in a tension-filled race.
