Season 40 – 1955 Grand Prix – Round 3 – Works - Dundrod

This race announcement is for the WORKS.

The third race in the 1955 Grand Prix series finds us at Dundrod in Northern Ireland. The Dundrod Circuit was first used in 1950 for the RAC Tourist Trophy Sports Car race and for the Formula One (non-championship) Ulster Trophy. The Sports Cars raced again in 1951 through to 1955 and the Formula 1 cars from 1951 through to 1953. The circuit comprised public roads closed for racing including a section of the B38 Hannahstown Road between Glenavy and Hannahstown, a section of the B101 Leathemstown Road from Leathemstown Corner to Dundrod and a section of the B153 Quarterland/Tornagrough Road from Cochranstown to the road junction of the B38 Upper Springsfield Road/Hannahstown Road at the Lindsay Hairpin. The last car race held on the Dundrod Circuit was the 1955 RAC Tourist Trophy race in which sadly there were 3 fatalities. The narrow, high-speed nature of the circuit, meant it was just too dangerous and since then it has only been used for motorcycle racing.

For this race we will use the 1950 layout which includes the Leathemstown Bridge section.

I'd love to see what it would do with this mod, especially.

Uncredited Sir Lewis appearance (1:26-1:31) or did they find a double? Hard to tell.

With the recent iGOR addy change, I've run into some trouble which, thankfully, I've managed to find a work'around.  I cannot join iGOR from GEM but I can fire up iGOR independently, run a race, go back to the iGOR lead page and then successfully go to GEM.  Very odd but at least it works.

Hi, Axel.  Yes, I've got the correct configuration path but it just doesn't seem to kick in.  No matter.  I can join directly via iGOR.

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.

This is a really tough mental race. Probably Giovanni and Yannick were faster in race pace and I just wanted to hit my markers. At the end I was lucky to stay on the road. Most important, it was so much fun

this circuit for me is fatal, I have a chain of bad performances in this mod and they are all my fault, today I made the decision to finish this impossible circuit, of 10 times that I run here, in 9 I killed myself and in the only one that I survived I arrive in position 15 more or less.
  Today I finished 5 and it was thanks to the inheritances that I managed to take, all those in front of me were killed and that's why I arrived in that position, or if I'm not sure I finished 9, I really like this road, but I can't hold its hand 
  Anyway, I finally got some points, to accompany my team and also very happy for the arrival of Clive on the podium of 3rd place ......
   an impressive race leo .. but, wild your way of driving, you grabbed me 10 seconds per lap, that's insane, leo dedicate yourself to pac man please .....
phil, you were also from another world, spectacular way of driving, I take my hat off.
  And well, very happy with my 5th place, (I never expected it) but today mine was a lottery and that's why I came to this position.
  let's see if the next race, I can do a good job.
