Also, worth mentioning that in qually I span and rejoined pointing the wrong way. Got DQd, so I rejoined as Arf66 - is that OK, or should I have gone for an early bath?
It will be fine Arf, I'll delete your first persona when I import the results.

My target tonight - TO FINISH

P4? OMG.

At this track, slow and steady can win you points. Grats to pods and to Syd for finishing in one piece.

Grats Pete, I tried to do the same but one lapse in concentration is enough to cause a catastrophe. Nevertheless, I like the track it has a great flow when you get in the groove but it only takes a tiny mistake and it is curtains.

Thanks
Sorry I didn't see your post until after the race, I had joined the server at 20:45. I've processed your registration so you will be OK for the next race. Sorry you missed this one.

Hello Phill,

No problem, I just had to register first.
I would be absent for Porto but present at the Ring.
Thank you for the organization, greetings to all participants and see you soon on the track.  Smiley

Goodness me!  So many fallers.  A splendid track that takes no prisoners.

Great job from Greg to get the Cooper home in P2.  Quite pleased to finish P3 considering.

Congratulations Tristan! If we switched cars, I think you would still be faster than me.

Saturday was the first time I drove this track. I practiced for 1 hour and 15 minutes, the amount of time it took me to run a clean lap. It took 5 tries to make it through the turn before Goats without rolling the car on the banking. And then it took 8 or 9 tries before I didn´t get stuck in the fence at Shaw Side. I was still finding new ways to wreck well into qualifying.

I didn´t have much hope for a good finish this time, unlike Watkins Glen where I was surprised by a lousy clutch. I wasn´t happy when I blew a low 3:33 just as qualifying was ending. Luckily that only lost me one spot, but I´d lose another spot on the start being boxed in behind Bob. Doni easily powered by me. At first I wasn´t worried about that. I figured it may take me a long time to get around Doni but I´ve got at least 40 minutes to do it.

Pete got close to a podium spot. At one point early in the race, I hit a wall and the car felt damaged. Then I got on the banking before Dog Hill and barely saved the car. That had me thinking, if I don´t get my feces together, the car is never going to make it to the finish. I lost my composure at least a few times throughout the race. Each time that happened I would lose 2 or 3 seconds on that lap. And then Tristan let me in front of him twice and each time he caught me I was nervous not knowing the track well and not being comfortable with the car. I´ve started thinking I drive the mods too much. It´s gotten rare that I feel comfortable in the 67s.

It´s a shame Enrique and Bob didn´t finish. They were both in a good position to get a good finish. I thought Doni may have held me back enough to keep me from catching Bob. But once I drove two decent laps, I thought I had a chance to catch him and then I think Bob wrecked soon after that. Enrique was doing well in the lead with what looked like a 15 second lead on Tristan. I thought he might win if he was consistent. Then I guess he wrecked soon after that. I never thought I´d be in P2 around the midpoint of the race.

My luck was great this time. I didn´t drive well enough to deserve any better than P4 and I easily could have been added to the list of attrition.

Thanks for the fun, gentlemen.

You know that some people are different
Now ain't that a crying shame
Now wouldn't it be a real drag if we were all the same

Well done Tris on a hard earnt victory.  As Arf mentioned we had noticed that those on pole couldn't see the flag man from the praccy races, I had intended to mention this then forgot.  Still you managed to fight your way back even after a tangle with Doni and spinning to avoid Enrique, congrats.

My goal was to finish this race.....  Unusually I'd done a bit of praccy with Arf and even though I was concerned about the Watersheddings, could generally thread my way through, but on lap 6 I clouted the final apex then ricochet off the wall then up the banking on t'other side ending upside down.  Gutted.  I have to say though that my pace wasn't great and at least Tris and Greg would have easily passed me, had I not saved them the trouble Wink

Cheers for organizing, see you next time,

Bob
