Contact between Syd and Claudio's cars.
Claudio was trying to overtake Syd.

Claudio came from a long way back and he didn't keep a tight inside line. When contact was made, he was on the right of the "Groove".

Syd appears to see Claudio approaching and stays wide i.e. on the right of the "Groove".
If we assume Claudio's attempt was legitimate, then in order to avoid a penalty he must stay on his own side of the track. But, it is clear from the replay that he is on the right of the Groove. At the moment contact is made Syd's car is rotating but the trajectory is still wide of the Groove, he is not on Claudio's side of the track.

According to the guidelines as currently written, Claudio's move was ambitious, but I also think he moved over causing the side-by-side contact. I think Syd was completely innocent here.

There is no need to rule on ambitious overtake. But it’s a one place penalty for Claudio for side by side contact.
Claudio should have stayed to the left of the Groove

Season 41 1967F1 WORKS – Round 3 – PORTO

The 3rd round of the 1967F1 Season 41 will be held at Porto.
Circuito da Boavista is a street circuit in Porto, Portugal, which was used twice for the Formula One Portuguese Grand Prix. The original course began at the harbor-front 'Esplanada do Rio de Janeiro', continued on 'Avenida da Boavista', (hence the circuit's name), and then twisted its way through small neighborhoods back to the start-finish line.
The first Grand Prix was held in 1958, and saw an act of sportsmanship by Stirling Moss. Moss came to the defense of his countryman and title rival Mike Hawthorn, who faced a penalty for having driven towards oncoming traffic after a spin. Moss persuaded the stewards not to disqualify Hawthorn, who retained his second place and 6 points. Hawthorn eventually won the drivers championship by 1 point over Moss.

What an arse of a track - not a fan...

Logged into see if there was a praccy server up, but found that it wouldn't let me join because 'i didn't have the track installed'. Not only do I have Porto58 installed Baab was able to join my server and run against me... so why does iGor think that I don't have the track installed?

Cheers

Was that to UKGPL10?  I can join ok via iGOR (although admittedly, not  exactly the same test).

In iGOR, can you see tracks for other servers ok?
  -> If so,  does your porto58 track.ini look ok/valid?
-> If yes, maybe try renaming porto58 to somehing else,  then create a new porto58 & copy all files to the new folder & re-start iGOR.

Baab was able to access Porto on UKGPL10 when I could not.

In iGor it looks like in Server Name column you see
- Green circle if everything is ok (right now Andreas has a 66 server for Monza10k and that's green for me)
- Red "X" if you have the track but not the mod installed (I have Nürburgring but not 55mod right now, so that's an X for me)
- Red "n/a" if you have the mod but not the track... such as Porto58 for GPL67

Dave's folder fudging idea has done the trick - cheers
....although it didn't work for 67 / VIR .... mmmm

Yeah I lost a wheel in the carnage, couldn't stop in time....so still no points on the board!!  As I pulled to the side I could hear all the carnage and assumed the road was blocked as no-one came past!  I exited then watched team-mate Arf, the replay shows him sitting there waiting for several upside doon drivers to come to their senses and hit ESC to clear the way.  It all seemed to start with a couple cars going wide through T1 and getting stuck in the bales, then others ploughing into stuck cars.  I actually wondered whether it would be restarted....coz that has happens Wink  Then I too came to my senses!

Congrats on the win Phil and indeed to all finishers, of which I think there four!

Cheers for the organizing!

Disconnection! Three times during qualifying and once (once is enough) during the race. It's been a long time since it happened to me, but well, racing is racing, and these things happen.

I'm sure many of you are really upset  cos your race lasted 1 corner, and I'm sorry for you all, not fun. I defo didn't deserve to be on the podium with my pace on a track I really don't like. Equally though, some of you should have pressed escape much sooner - surely practice told you that those hay bales don't let go? Those of us waiting behind the mess had to wait too long to get on with it - Phil and Enrique were long gone before we could get after them. On lap times alone I'd never had got near them, but their distances to me went up and down suggesting they had some moments? Pretty sure that Phil was quite a way behind at the start of the last lap, but managed to win by 0.01?? :-) That must have been satisfying! You two looked as if you were both trying hard, tbh I drove at 75% and managed to keep a distance to RB behind me.. which is probably why I managed to finish :-)

Well done to PT for the win/hard luck to EF, well done me and RB for managing to concentrate and complete the distance.

I'm sorry gentlemen, I couldn't get from Greg and the car went spinning taking everyone around, I believe I have 90 percent responsibility in this accident. I accept a guillotine.

Yes we were, it was a very close finish!

There was carnage at the start, the server replay is available for the drivers to have a look at. It started when Greg and JonnyO got stuck in the haybales and it was difficult to avoid them. Enrique managed to avoid any contact but I clipped JonnyO and was bounced into the opposite hedge. I managed to squeeze my way out between the hedge and a lamppost but by then Enrique had a decent lead. I worked hard to catch him up and with about 8 laps to go I was on his tail but I made a tiny mistake and spun, losing about 7 seconds. I know the Honda overheats rear tyres so I pressed on and tried to catch up again. I did and we had a huge battle on the last lap. Fortunately for me the extra traction from the Brabham out of the last corner was enough to get me over the line 0.008 seconds ahead.

A great race for me, sorry so many drivers missed out on the fun.

Grats to Phil and Enrique on a tremendous but lonely battle up front, and well done those who survived.

I was half expecting some problems at T1, as someone is usually caught out by cold tyres and sticky hay bales at this track. But the wall to wall road block was just something else.  I had just managed to stop my Honda with a minor nudge against the last car of the pile up and thought "geez just got away with that" when someone piled into my rear and sent me spinning into the sky landing amongst the carnage and upside down  Undecided Undecided. I was too early in my counting of the poultry!!!

Comments have been made about drivers not hitting the "ESC" key to clear the track, but the constant impacts that I experienced, effectively kept my car moving and spinning with a "white noise" screen, and until everything has stopped the ESC key does not work. I am sure there were other cars that appeared to sit on the track blocking any chance for those who survived getting going, but I can assure you that we are all experienced enough to know when a race is all over and it is time to quit.

WOW!  Talk about a photo finish!  They won't get much closer than that.  Well done, Phil!  Great job, Ricky!

Goodness me but that was a stunner of a start.  Seven cars eliminated in the T1 scrum.  Fulvio gets the 'Die Hard' award for trying to get back on track only to be scuppered with the track in sight.  I sat on my left side wheels hoping that someone would tip me back onto all four but no, it didn't happen.  Sigh...

Jonny wants to take the lion's share of blame for the horror but I think that we just have to accept that sometimes, the rain must fall.

As for parallels to real life, I can think of Indy 1966 and 1973, Belgian GP of 1998 and the Mosport CanAm of 1966(I was an eye witness to that).
