BEWARE, THE TRACK IS DUNDROD (track directory dundrod) AND NOT DUNDROD1955 Season 41 1967F1 WORKS – Round 6 –DUNDRODWe will drive the old (1965) version! For the 6th race of the 1967 F1 WORKS Championship, we visit Dundrod in Northern Ireland. The Dundrod Circuit was first used in 1950 for the RAC Tourist Trophy Sports Car race and for the Formula One (non-championship) Ulster Trophy. The Sports Cars raced again in 1951 through to 1955 and the Formula 1 cars from 1951 through to 1953. The circuit comprised public roads closed for racing including a section of the B38 Hannahstown Road between Glenavy and Hannahstown, a section of the B101 Leathemstown Road from Leathemstown Corner to Dundrod and a section of the B153 Quarterland/Tornagrough Road from Cochranstown to the road junction of the B38 Upper Springsfield Road/Hannahstown Road at the Lindsay Hairpin. The last car race held on the Dundrod Circuit was the 1955 RAC Tourist Trophy race in which sadly there were 3 fatalities. The narrow, high-speed nature of the circuit, meant it was just too dangerous and since then it has only been used for motorcycle racing. Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty. Drivers must complete 50% race distance to score. MOD PRO so no shift-R Only reported incidents will be moderated. I've updated the race on GPL Weekly to show the correct version of Dundrod.

Ooh difficult one to learn! Did a few laps last night with cookie, just 20 secs off the pace. Shades of IOM TT. Think I'd better jump into a cheaper car!

B****y track!
Same thing happened tonight as it did in the Sports Cars here a few weeks ago. All good in practice and then in the race, everyone disappeared (literally) as soon as the flag went down. two second later, everyone reappeared and then BOOM. Crashed into someone (sorry for that) and CTD.
I love this track but my experience of it online sucks. Such a shame. I hope I didn't kill anyone else in my efforts.

hello guys: there is a very important note that I would like to remind many drivers, and that is that they do not look at the prebluda before re-entering the track, the same in qualifying, when one is starting a "hot" lap someone comes out of the pits without looking at the prebluda and zaz the hot lap was damaged. :-( and in the race this matter is even more delicate, I only write this, so that please, look at the prebluda before leaving or re-entering the track, since I have been harmed many times for that reason. Thank you

Pete, your car disappeared a couple of time on the start grid, then you reappered on my head on the straight and caboom, my car flyed and crashed on Tris head. Alain was very good to brake and avoid my car rolling on my head, then he also hit my car trying to put it on his leg but didn't work, thanks Alain

I managed to avoid the carnage at the start but I wasn't quick enough off the line and I was jumped by Bob. I settled into 4th place and decided to wait to see where I might have a chance to get 3rd place back. At the end of lap 1 I was surprised how fast Bob's Cooper was down the Flying Kilo, I didn't close up as I expected. So I decided I needed to be closer on the next lap but in my efforts to close the gap I spun and did a 360 at Budore. Amazingly I survived without hitting anything but I'd let Bob get away. The next few laps I tried to close the gap and I was making slow progress but then Bob made a mistake at Quarterlands (I think) and I was back up to third place. Leo and Greg were in a class of their own and there was no way I was going to catch them so I settled down and tried to put in steady consistent laps. All was going well until I made another error, in fact another 360, at Wheelers and again miraculously I survived. With half the race still to go I now had Doni about 700 yards behind so I tried to focus on putting in steady laps in the hope of maintaining my lead. The gap seesawed a bit but I managed to stay composed enough to hang on. In fact with 3 laps to go I picked up another place when Leo went missing. No idea what happened, unlucky Leo. I was pleased with P2 but it is a bit flattering, Leo and Greg were simply brilliant tonight.

Grats to the podium and finishers from a puzzled Honda driver.
I opted for the white whale and the intention was simply to finish, although after trying to build a setup from scratch during quali, that seemed unlikely.
I got a reasonable start and must have slipped past Pete's flashing car when I also got past Jonny's bogged down BRM. I therefore missed the mass pile up. I think I was running 6th through lap 1 and Jonny was recovering quickly in his BRM, so I let him past as we crossed the line to start lap 2. Then going out through the countryside I got a tank slapper that sent me into a field, but I was able to spin the car 180 and spin up the wheels to avoid reversing into anything . I drove back across the field until I found a spot where I could re-join through the fence. Fortunately the gap behind me was huge and I did not lose any places. As I re-joined the Prib readout changed and then changed again to show only 4 cars ahead ( none behind) and all in red, indicating that they were already onto lap 3??? which seemed unlikely. I drove on intent on avoiding any more "offs", but as I crossed the line to start my 3rd lap I was DQ'd??!! I don't believe I jumped the start as I would have seen a warning and anyway it would not have caused the change to Prib 50% through lap 2.
Anyone have any ideas why I would have been DQ'd for recovering from the field???

Maybe you were driving above 5 MPH in the "wrong direction" for some time? Olaf has released a patch to raise the threshold, but would need to be added to servers. More info at SRMZ: http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=14042

The only time that I was driving in the wrong direction was whilst in a field and looking for a hole in the fencing. I hit the track at 90 deg and turned to go in the right direction. I don't think I have ever experienced a DQ before ( except maybe a jump start ? but that simply means a SnG in the pitlane within 2 laps ). All very strange. I would just like to know the reason why. It did of course prevent me sweeping past everyone with 3 laps to go and taking a great win

Same here Clive. Missed a downshift, went in the fields and had to find a way back. A lap latter realized I was DQ.
Fun race thogh!

Im sorry for the carnage at the start. I need to investigate why this connection problem has only happened at this track. The 55 version is fine. Has anyone else had track-specific connection problems? Basically, I experienced huge lags of a couple of seconds; once whilst sitting on the grid and again as soon as the green flag dropped. Caboom! Carnage.

Congratulations Phil and Doni! Phil, it was good to see you racing again. It seems like a long time since I´ve seen you on the track.
Wow! I got lucky. It looked like I needed to run a few if not several 3:21s if I wanted to challenge Leo´s speed. I decided my best plan was; be careful, stay on the track, and see if I could be more consistent than Leo. It worked. Even after Leo went off at Deer´s Leap, I still thought he had a good chance to beat me or at least catch me. It was a big relief that I was able to run the last 2 or 3 laps somewhat slow.
This win has made this a great season for me. I thought I had a chance to win at Nurburgring with a Ferrari and at Dundrod with an Eagle. I didn´t have to use the Ferrari at the Ring and now I realize the Ferrari and the Lotus could have given me a good opportunity at Dundrod.
I thought that was fun too, Leo. That was a tough challenge for me. I did a good job maintaining my discipline, something I´ve been lacking in recent years. I wish I would have practiced a lot more. My setup is several years old. I´d like to set up the car with different ramp angles.
It´s a shame concerning the various problems drivers are having. I have some too, such as I can´t seem to get my computer hardware to run GPL flawlessly. I was getting stutters at Quarterlands on every lap. I had a difficult time seeing where I was going there. Clive, I think if you travel anymore than 20-30 meters in the wrong direction you will be disqualified. I always worry when I travel as much as 10 meters in the wrong direction. That´s the thing I dislike about Pearson´s tracks, sometimes you have to go a long ways to get back on the track. I have no idea what´s happening to Pete. It´s very strange that only one track would cause connection problems. Could it be one server is giving you trouble? I´ve found recently that one of the three Argentine servers makes my computer want to run at 57 fps where the other two almost always maintain 60 fps.
Thanks for the fun guys. Although, I feel bad seeing so many others having so much trouble.
