Moderator's Report

Summary
Another win for Tristan after a titanic dual with Cookie. Tom Johnson grabbed a well-deserved third place.

Server replay time: 0h07m23s

Lap 4 – Lodge Corner – Bastian Grupp and Andreas Gebhardt
Bastian and Andreas are having a tremendous battle. Bastian gets past Andreas at Knickerbrook and leads up Clay Hill and through Druids. Bastian is late on the brakes into Lodge and consequently takes a slightly wide line on entry, but he maintains control and aims for the apex. Andreas takes the normal racing line, hugging the inside kerb and clipping the grass on the apex. As Andreas followed the racing line towards the outside on leaving the apex, contact was made with Bastian's rear offside wheel.

Bastian did nothing wrong.

Andreas took the racing line, effectively aiming at the space that had opened up on the inside, but the gap narrowed quickly as Bastian drove towards the apex. Andreas was too far back at turn-in to be able to mount a realistic overtaking attempt. It appears he was just trying to stay close to the car ahead, but he left no room for error if Bastian made a mistake. Andreas was unable to maintain the tight line and minor contact was made as he drifted left away from the apex. It is the following car’s responsibility to avoid contact so Andreas must shoulder the responsibility for the incident.

I don't get one right. I was started with the default setup so the fuel was not enough, shift R and restart but i lost a lot of time and one position.

That was a hectic race. I made 3 rookie errors with my gear shifting and each time I ended up spinning. There were a lot of gear changes in the BRM tonight and plenty of opportunities to miss a gear which I did  taz  I need to learn to stay calm and shift carefully. The only consolation is that my mistakes produced an exciting race with battles with Andreas, Tom, Bastian and to a lesser extent Fulvio. The final spin was the most infuriating, I had 3rd in the bag with 5 laps to go but I did a 360 at Druids and ended up very slow on the racing line. If I'd been further ahead it would have been no problem but Bastian was very close and couldn't avoid me. Sorry Bastian, my mistake cost you a place to Tom but then I finished behind you so the net effect is that you didn't lose out. Tom was gifted a podium Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes WD mate you drove very well in the Cooper, you deserve it.

Looks as though you had fun.

Real life got in the way for Will and I today. So far, my S42 campaign has been a shocker. Round 1 I couldn't connect to my own server, Round 2 was cut short by a server explosion and Round 3 was a DNS. So, nil point pour moi at the bottom of the table. Still, the championship could still be mine if I win the remaining 7 races and Tris doesn't show up Smiley

I hope to run a fun race on UKGPL07 this Friday to make sure that it's up to the job of hosting the next round in a couple of weeks. Watch this space for details.

Thanks to Cookie for hosting today.

My race was cool , few little mistakes and a bit worry with the engine temp....good battle with Cookie, not especially easy to overtake Wink but in the end the BRM make the gap ...
Thx all & Org.

The BT7 is a great little car. Perhaps a bit down on power but the handling was fantastic. I even got the full works paint job in green & gold.
A shame that Francesco & Paul dropped back in the latter part of the race. The road was quite empty until Tristan appeared with Cookie in tow - just at the point I was wondering if I might not get lapped!
Pleased with a 1.40 lap right at the end.
