PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW AND BE SURE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND IT.

THESE RACES WILL INVOLVE A DIFFERENT START PROCEDURE FOR THE PRO DRIVERS

ALL RACES WILL RUN THE PAPYRUS TRACKS IN REVERSE DIRECTION, BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED THE CORRECT TRACK FILES.
Refer to the REGISTRATION page for the car groups.

PRO drivers may only use Group 1.
Am drivers may choose any group.

Each group contains a 65 car, a 66 car and a 67 car. Once you have selected your group these are the 3 cars that you must use.

For this years Joe Shaw Trophy races, as always, we have tried to introduce something just a little bit different, with the aim to challenge the PRO drivers and also give the Am drivers a chance of some champagne.
.
There will be 3 races this year. On the first evening, 16th April, we hold 2 sprint races
Race 1
Aznom ( Monza reverse direction) 12 laps in the 65 cars
Race 2
Revlis ( Silverstone reverse direction) 12 laps in the 66 cars

Race 3
Troovdnaz ( Zandvoort reverse direction)  will be on 18th April, and will be a longer race, 27 laps, in the 67 cars

For this race we are using the 67 F1 cars.

Race list = iGOR
Server = UKGPL04_60fps
IP address = 146.200.244.218:32766
Password = see above
GPL Mod = 67
Damage model = Intermediate
60fps Patch = 60fpsV2newmod
Track download = link
Track directory = revlis - PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL PAPYRUS TRACK IN REVERSE
Qualifying starts = 20:45 UK time - 45 minutes
Race starts = ~ 21:30 UK time
Race length = 27 laps
Replay= here
PLEASE READ THESE RULES CAREFULLY AND ASK IF YOU ARE NOT SURE.

Qualifying will start at 8:45 pm for 45 mins

Everyone has unlimited S/Rs, with no requirement for any SnG.[/quote]

Am drivers will start from the grid in the normal fashion. If you are an AM driver ignore the instructions below.

IMPORTANT!!!! FOR PRO DRIVERS ONLY.

Pro drivers will start from the modified pit lane position which is approximately half a lap behind the normal grid. If you follow these steps it is not as complicated as it sounds.

1) When qualifying is complete and GPL shows "start sequence beginning" DO NOT join the grid.
2) Pro drivers will see the normal GREEN  button at the bottom right of the screen, DO NOT click
3) Pro drivers will see the race countdown start and the GREEN button will disappear just before the AM drivers start the race.
4) After approx 10 seconds the GREEN button will re-appear.
5) Pro drivers should be ready for this and clicking on the GREEN button will place them on the track in the modified pit lane position
6) soon as your car is visible Pro drivers may begin to race, be aware that you should move LEFT immediately to avoid other cars still joining along the pitlane.
7) All of the PRO drivers should be up to speed before the Am drivers arrive at the new Pitlane.

Practice server is up on iGOR. If you had trouble connecting to the server for rounds 1 or 2, please check you connection well before the race. The track is available for download from the replay site here if you need it.

Sorry about leaving the race guys, but it was a bad night for me.

I missed the grid start, thinking that we were still doing the pit lane start. So already a lap down I could not understand why the car did not behave . After getting in everyone's way, because I was overdriving and trying to make up a whole lap, I almost took out Andreas so I quit and discovered that I had the DEFAULT setup loaded for the race......................I ought to know better at my age!!

At least Pete will have finished in the top four  Wink

A little disappointed at the poor numbers for this series and I wonder if the format was too complicated, which would be my fault for trying to be clever.

Quite possibly but unless we do something creative it is impossible to have a race where everyone, regardless of ability, has a fair chance of winning.

I registered with every intention of doing all races, but a combination of weekend illness and being rammed at work tonight stopped me joining. Sorry...

I didn't think the format was complicated, indeed I've always enjoyed the reverse races.

I apologise for jumping straight onto the grid at the start. I just presumed that with no NOVICE drivers we would just do a normal start. Anyway, still fun on a Tuesday evening. Just a pity that the grid was so sparse. I don't think that the format was the problem, perhaps just the date. I do remember JOPS SIFFERT being very popular last year. Maybe it's one to ask in a poll?

Then last night did check I could get on the server OK.  didnt do any praccy, but attempted to join the server for the race and I had left it too late.

Shame on me ! LOL.

Apologies to Phil for not acknowledging his win this year. On the podium for each race, and capping it all with a win at Zandvoort.  I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy

Grid numbers aside as you can only beat the cars on track, you did a terrific job Phil and about time that you got your name on the winner's list  Wink

(I still think that the Am drivers missed a real opportunity to get their name on the Joe Shaw Trophy this year as the handicap for the Pros was  the hardest ever.)
