You're right, it DOES say all that Smiley

I couldn't find any other mention of ver2 at gpladdons.the-fastlane.co.uk  (including searching by the mentioned track builders).
Additionally, no track updates indicated there for ver1.0.

Found mentions elsewhere which seem to be for graphics updates.  For example: https://www.grandprixlegends.fr/y-en-a-un-peu-plus-2020-n1-15032020-addons-circuits-octobre-2019-fevrier-2020  -  but all download links on that page point to SRMZ.

However, I have just found a thruxton_1967 package for download from: https://boxes.gaiztor.com/tracks/gpl/Thruxton_1967.7z
This looks to contain the v1.0  as well as some updates (a freezefix & GFX updates).  However, the readme for Thruxton_512_addon.zip   mentions:
Code:
These are mainly 512 x 512 textures for the grass and asphalts,
and should be used with caution for those with lessers CPU, graphics cards,
and ALSOOOOO... BECAUSE THIS ADD-ON MAKES THE TRACK A LOT MORE SLIPPERY!!!!!

That same location also has the following: https://boxes.gaiztor.com/tracks/gpl/thruxton_con_addons.rar  which contains the 512 update, as well as some other updates/options.

I must have ver1.0 on UKGPL11 (with the specified folder thruxton)
Unless I hear otherwise, I'll be aiming to use this version for the race  (UKGPL11 is standing in for UKGPL07 for this round).

If anyone wants to try the slippery addon, go ahead Smiley

Cheers,
Dave.

I must claim a home advantage at Thruxton. I saw the F2's here when they were new.  None of us can throw a car into Campbell the way Jochen Rindt would, but I did try to!

I've noticed the grids growing smaller, but joined in a bit late.  How many races left?  Huh

Made one silly mistake when a blade of grass jumped under a wheel, which must've lost 10 seconds in the greenery.  Finished with 11 laps of fuel for the trip home, but happy to have stayed out of the way of championship contenders.  Undecided laugh Many congrats. guys, and an F1 seat awaits you, next year.

I'm sorry to have missed the last round but well done to all who took part. Thanks for Dave for hosting  Grin

This has been a fun season of clean driving and I'm already looking forward to planning a Tuesday event for Season 43. I have a few options so I may start a poll to see which will attract the largest grid.

See you all soon... perhaps at a new track  Wink

After Goodwood closed,we were lucky to have Thruxton open soon afterwards.  I was at every Easter Monday meeting there as a teenager.  You'd need to supply more information about Bill Ivy, as nothing comes to mind. Smiley

From Wikipedia: "In 1967, Ivy dominated the 125 cc championship: he won eight out of twelve races to claim the World Championship by 16 points over Phil Read.[6] On top of this, he won two 250 cc races in France and Belgium.

In 1968, Ivy and teammate Phil Read controlled both the 125 and 250 cc championships. In the process Ivy also became the first 125cc rider to lap the famous Isle Of Man TT Mountain Course at over 100 mph. As the season progressed, Yamaha ordered them to win one title each, with Ivy scheduled to win the 250 cc championship and Read the 125 cc championship.[1] After securing the 125 cc title, Read ignored Yamaha's orders to tie with Ivy on points. The tie break was decided on overall race times, and Read took the title. Ivy announced his retirement from motorcycle racing, stating he would race Formula Two cars during the next season."

Oh yes, my thanks to AnGex-Wiki. thumbup1  First there was John Surtees.  Then came Bil Ives, and thereater Mike Hailwood.  I'm surprised anyone could switch successfully from 2 wheels to 4, as cars lean slightly the wrong way.  I expect he had fun trying to though. Cheesy

Bill Ivy was really quick right from his beginning in Formula 2 (driving a Brabham BT23C). Thruxton was his first F2 race, then he raced at Pau,  Zolder, Hockenheim.

Unfortunately, Bill Ivy didn't fully retire from motorcycle and he died a few months later, the 12 July 1969 at  the Sachsenring.
