Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h22m15s

On lap 15 at the entry of Curva Grande, Alain Maurice rearended Syd Drake.

Syd may have been on a defensive line and consequently had to slow more than normal to make the corner, but he was well ahead (over a car's length in front) and so he had won the corner. Alain should have slowed down and conceded the corner but he carried on at his normal pace and hence contact was made.

Obviously Alain didn't intend to wreck Syd's race and we all know his sportmanship.

According to UKGPL rules, this is a blatant rear end shunt

Please, I'm just putting up for debate the possibility of increasing the distance on the grid. Precisely because the GPL is not a perfect simulator in terms of contact, in fact, it is totally unpredictable. In this accident on Sunday, I didn't even look at the replay, let alone point the finger at someone, I don't know. I don't want it considered and I won't report it. My suggestion is just to consider increasing the distance on the grid to make room for the lag problem and the contact bug. Deficiencias innate to the GPL. Wink

Think I chose the wrong car for this race, I tried the Honda but couldn't do with it's handling, kept spinning it when getting it the slightest bit sideways....perhaps it's the way I drive so opted for the sweeter handling of the Cooper, which was great in the corners o'course but dire everywhere else.

Andreas clattered me a treat at the start as I braked and tried to avoid Arf and seemed to fly over the top of me (at least that's how I recall it) (guess you didn't brake Andreas?) so I was dead last leaving the grid Wink.  Anyways not to worry, car seemed fine and coming gingerly into lesmo there was carnage which I luckily managed to tiptoe around and found myself right behind Arf.  I stayed there a lap or two but lost the tow after a couple of small mistakes as Arf set about Andreas and Greg.  From there I had a spin or two and ended my race on L10 minus a wheel, probably pushing too hard to be honest.

Cheers and see you next time,

Bob

Congratulations Tristan, Axel, and Eduardo! Good job gentlemen!

It was me that bumped you Jonny. I apologize. With both our signals crossing the Atlantic, the crash box was excessively violent. I tried to be careful but it didn't work. I don't mind 20 meters between starting positions. It was one thing I always like about GPLBrasil. It always seemed to reduce lap 1 crashes. If we could turn our heads 45 degrees and use our peripheral vision to easily see what's near our rear wheels, race starts would be much easier.

I thought I should drive the BRM at least once this season. Monza seemed like the easiest track to drive the BRM. I hate the braking on this car. I often locked the right front wheel. I would have used more rear braking bias except my rear tires were much closer to over heating than the front tires. I can keep the BRM on the track, but it's only because I am so slow with it.

I was lucky to get such a good finish.

I apologize again Jonny.

Thanks for the fun gentlemen.

Greg, I didn't look at the replay and, without a doubt, probably the car going flying meters and falling off the track is totally out of proportion. So my suggestion to increase the grid.
As long as the majority agrees, of course!

Greg, no problem!!! See you at the next race!

Joao I looked at the replay Wink

imo no incident in the  first lap is caused by the grid  Roll Eyes

One driver does not move at start and then moves to the right ...
Other spins in Lesmo 1 and causes a pileup ...

Only a rolling start would have been the medicine Wink

I am not for this...
Au contraire - whenever I started in an original GPL grid - all driver were alarmed and behaved cautious.

In fact I did brake, but way too late. I saw far too late and realised that someone had not left the start.
Anyway a good Race for me. Best Ferrari in the Temple of Speed.  Smiley
