 Shocked

I was shocked to see this records of 67s

until I understood that these times are from the much faster 65 track version - as SROU database does not know the difference...

I forgot what corner it was, went in too fast, hit the wall, and lost a wheel. Shame as I was 7th, and like the track.

Made a good start and managed to hold off Cookie who I thought might out drag me off the line. After lap 1, I found myself in a safe second place. The was no way I was going to catch Leo and I was managing the gap back to Cookie when I lost concentration and outbraked myself with about 4 laps to go. Got stuck in the hedge, race over. Pity Antipasti were on for some good team points until I messed it up.

Yeah what a shame Phil, I was aware that you stuck somewhere in the hedges and nearly followed you there when I was looking for you Roll Eyes

My concentration was at the limit in the last 3 laps - I did plenty of little mistakes, but I had a big cushion to Doni to keep my 2nd.

I love Jim Pearsons tracks!!!  Grin

I think my brain cell was exhausted and Dundrod was just a step too far. I had just completed a 90 minute GT3 race on RRE in BMW saloon and with just 4 mins of quali left for the UKGPL race I joined the server in a 1967 Brabham. Needless to say there is a huge difference in the handling lololol.

More than happy to start at the back of the grid and "feel" my way in, but a couple of cars obviously wanted me to pass them on lap 1, maybe I should have refused and just played the safe game?
After a few dodgy moments on lap 1 where the ABS did not work and the traction control did not kick in I settled into the Brabham. Then came upon a mighty crashfest  scared scared but somehow I weaved my way through without contact...still not sure how that was done as it looked like a wall of cars???
Gradually picked up pace over the next 2 laps passing Andreas and Fulvio...or rather accepting their offer to pass them. Then, a slight lapse of concentration and 5 metres late on the brakes and one of those sticky Irish hedges grabbed my rear wheel and just would NOT let go. I had to hit escape as I was on the exit of a blind corner and I could see Andreas closing fast on Prib.

Grats to the podium and those careful finishers  Wink

Could someone please check the track.ini on GPL04 server? As I said, Q4 and put near the back of the grid. There was quite a gap between myself (12th on grid) and 11th with others behind me equally a long way down the road. I'm guessing just a few errors in the starting grid. Forgive me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance.

Yes so do I. I don't know why some drivers dislike Dundrod. Yes it is unforgiving, but it is authentic and a true test. I lost concentration and crashed but that was my fault, nothing to do with the track. I lose concentration in most races but not always with catastrophic results.
