whitewheel, I was looking at the replay and I didn't see my touch on you, but due to the proximity of the
cars, I certainly got in your way, many apologies, I don't like it when that happens
I'm really sorry!

Greg was in another dimension!!! So I believe I won the mortal race, at the beginning I had a big problem with lag throughout the first lap, I'm sorry if I hurt anyone, I'm still going to review the replay, I'm not sure. This track is enjoyable, one of my top 5 perhaps, I really love Bathurst, it's very difficult to compete for positions, because of the devilish braking required to try something and every morning is a huge risk as you get close to someone, in short a track on a knife's edge ! I believe that Greg is the champion of the season, I congratulate him if that's correct. I felt very sorry when I no longer saw my friend Doni in my pribluda, who was fighting for the podium and keeping his championship chances alive. Doni is our most notable motorsport lover I know and I really wanted to see him with a chance at the last race.

It was shaping up to be a tidy finish with the possibility of a podium no less til... Greg putting on a clinic for us with a runaway win. Nice job, GT. Jonny a well-deserved P2. Top marks, amigo. Fulvio profits from the many DNF's to nail down the final podium placing. Well done, FP. Not to be forgotten in this is a fine P4 placing by Roberto in the BRM. No cinch job bringing that beast home here at Bathurst. Starting P10 with a new personal best in the Brabham, I was fearful of a T1 shunt as so often happens on this circuit. Held my breath as I made the dash down to T1 and skirted wide to the right. Turned out that this was the thing to do as the shunt was on the exit this time. Picked up three positions all in a heartbeat. Had Ricardo on my tail chasing hard in the Lotus and didn't think my chances were good to hold him so when he made to pass at the end of Conrod, I gave way early on Lap02. Held my P7 placing thanks to Phil having an off up on the mountain. As the laps counted down, I noted my progress up the order as so many fell by the wayside with assorted troubles. At half distance, I upped the pace as I'd been saving some 500rpm in reserve. There was little chance of a slipstream pass on Conrod against Ricaro's Lotus but I did seem to have the upper hand on the mountain where I could gain time and be right on his tail at the top of Conrod. Comes Lap19 and I'm as close as ever to start the run down Conrod and I get a nice tow. Then... Bungled the yump to land badly and lose the car. It spun after hitting the outfield retaining wall and caromed cross track to the infield where I lost a corner against a fence. And I wasn't even making a bid. Just sizing up my chances for a later attempt. Sigh... What's worse, I fear that I scared Ricardo into a bad corner entry where he destroyed the Lotus up against the outfield guardrails. Double sigh... He was going great guns and didn't deserve that. Fulvio came upon the scene to find himself promoted from P5 to P3 with two cars in a bad state of repair. Greg coming through to be our S43 champion. Well done, sir!

Congratulations Greg for this new race and Championship victory. Bravo JonnyO and FP for your podium. Good start until V1 where JonnyO comes out, so I go 2 behind Greg. He is actually on another planet, I lose 3s per turn. My goal is to finish because I am far away in the general classification. With 10 laps to go JonnyO comes back strong and is only 2s behind me, I can't make any mistakes. Unfortunately, just after Griffins Bend I have a message on my screen that hides the track from me and I have to stop on the right because I can no longer see anything there. Fortunately JonnyO can pass without a collision. It's a new screen that I installed yesterday, so I didn't know that I would have this kind of mishap. To check for the next races. Thanks for the organization and see you soon

Only 5 finishers, wow. I got caught behind an invisible wall, couldn't escape, so just gave up. Before that I got caught up in other's misfortune a couple of times and spent what little of the race I lasted at the back. As ever I was geared badly and caught many through the twisties and lost them on the Conrod straight... but if I had geared the car any different I had no confidence it would survive, engine blew 2/3 times in qually alone. No idea how to gear a car for a race!
Congrats to all finishers and esp Greg for championship.

Tough as it might be to hear Colin, it is probably not the gearing but the actual gearshifts. If you have set 5th gear to run at 500rpm below max revs without a slipstream during practice, then space the remaining gears to avoid hitting max rpm at upshift time, then it is only the random engine gremlin in GPL that will trash the whizzy bits. I would suggest that you use the Replay Manager to look for speedshifts or downshifts that are too early and send that red pointy thing hammering against the stop? Unless you look closely at what is happening it might not be obvious. I was guilty of these sins in my early career, keeping my right foot planted during upshifts as the rev counter flicked momentarily against the limit and then trying to use engine braking by downshifting early, again sending the needle into the danger zone. Each time the penalty count against you rises until the magic total is reached and the GPL gods end the fun. Driving the somewhat fragile Honda for several seasons cured me of those habits as that V12 does not take kindly to abuse

For some reason I just couldn't get settled in the race and made too many mistakes.
Grats to Greg on a dominant win. Moderation notwithstanding, you can't be caught now; a well deserved championship.

Congratulations to Greg for the victory and championship. Now talking about the race, my dispute with Dony was incredible, I was calm because the lotus was a great car, I was managing my laps, not forcing it because I was afraid of the engine blowing. With 6 laps left to go I finished and Dony was right next to me, I saw in the rearview mirror when he lost control of the car, I was afraid he would catch me, because I didn't know where he would come from out of control, then I ended up losing the braking point, it was a shame for me and for him , because it was great in this competition, know that it is a great pleasure to race with you in this league, I just have to thank you for the experiences that I have been acquiring every weekend, congratulations on the organization. You deserved this 3rd place.

Hi there, Ricardo. Yes, I feared that I was responsible for your loss of control coming off Conrod. Seeing my Brabham going out of control in your mirrors had to be unnerving. Sorry that it cost you a good podium. You drove exceptionally well and fully deserved a podium.

Congratulations Jonny and Fulvio!
I enjoyed driving the Lotus. I still enjoy driving the Ferrari most but now I realize the Lotus is my 2nd favorite. I improved my best lap by more than 0.7 seconds. I'm still learning how to set up the car better.
This is an easy track to destroy a car. I thought I could keep from wrecking the car but I worried I would destroy the engine. At least 3 or 4 times during the race, I over revved the engine thinking I got lucky that did not pop the engine.
I got lucky Tristan was not able to finish the season. I would have bet on Tristan being champion. My plan was try to stay somewhat close in points and maybe get a win or two using the Eagle and Lotus.
Like Jonny, I like Bathurst too. I had never heard of the track until I started driving GPL. Since then, I've watched a lot footage from this circuit. It's by far my favorite Australian track.
It's a shame Jonny struggled with the start. I thought he might put some pressure on me. A little pressure might have got me to have an accident.
It looks Team Baarf might be champion too! Equipe BGB was the likely champion if Alain had not had such a bad season and Tristan wasn't absent. Bob and Colin were always outmanned the first few seasons I drove with UKGPL. It's been cool that I could put a 3rd team into championship contention.
It's been a good season. I enjoyed the track and car selections. Thanks for the fun gentlemen.
