Will be curious to see what you make of the Eagle if you run it. I didn't have time to play with the setup when I first tryed it, and found it to be a nasty understeering barge! I suspect from the ADC race this may have been hasty judgement on my part - that or an Alien was at work

That sounds like the big Eagle there Tim. This will be the Eaglet, which is an absolute joy to drive but is a bit gutless.

Yes, it is the little one and Clive is right - it is a joy to drive. Having a bit of trouble braking. It brakes like my old Mini used to - more than light pressure on the pedal and it spears off to the left. I did make a load of rather sweeping setup changes before I even drove it last night so I expect I'll be able to dial that out in qualifying.

Nope deffo the 2.7 eagle I tried It was at Mosport on totally default settings which maybe why - If it had handled nicely then I'd have choosen that over the Lotus when everyone entered in the BT11 2.7's I remembered the Lotus being twitchy as, plus no-one had choosen it so I thought 'why not, I'll deal with that later'

Landed on my head some 20 laps in which ended my race Was slowly reeling Bernie in too.... Started with 2 consecutive offs at the Loop, 1 due to the car I was following braking even sooner than I had anticipated on the first lap, so I span and binned it rather than take him out. The second was when the car infront braked way earlier than I expected in clear track conditions and caused me to do the same again. Not a good race at all for me

Hope that wasn't me braking too early for you. I was very keen to stay on track facing the right way for the whole race so was a tad conservative on the opening lap.
All for nought I'm afraid. The race developed into 4 at the front - Skingley, Loynes, Murray and me. Loynes made a mistake at the loop and I lost the tow to the guys at the front, which was my only hope of hanging with the fast guys. Clive caught me up again and I let him past thinking he could tow me up to the leaders but he was all over the place (damaged I guess) and I got him back when he ran wide at the Loop again. This time he was back in my tow and pulled alongside but into the left hand sweeper he ran too wide, put a wheel on the dirt, veered across the track and hit me. I went into the barriers and over. Race done.
Very disappointing, because I was enjoying taking it to some faster cars, but it was a simple error by Clive, not foolish driving or anything like that so there we go. Onwards and upwards.

Managed to get in at the tail end of qualifying. I knew I had a set up for the 33 BRM so chose it, but I also had a nagging thought at the back of my mind that I wasn't too happy with its antics round the Loop, and so it proved as the race prgressed, with the understeer getting worse on each lap. I'd had two offs in the opening laps and was down about 6th I think with Syd closing in, when there was an electrical problem, errr.........the distributor was removed when it got in the way of an escaping piston Must do some praccy for the next one, so far two races - two DNFs

The P261 has a nice speed advantage over the 246's but the extra gear changes make it a little harder to turn in to the corners. Anyway I just scraped pole and got away nicely. I had to take some defensive lines going in to Big Bend and first Paul ran off as he caught the grass. Then poor Syd got a wicked warp contact a couple of laps later that had us both down the ditch. I regained the track fairly quickly and was soon with the three leaders. My speedy BRM made passes easy and I managed to split the group so I only had Paul to worry about, I played a waiting game initially but then started to make some moves. On more than one occasion I thought I might have broken the tow only for Paul to loom large in my mirrors again, usually at Big Bend. Then with about 7 to go as we crested the brow at the Loop he flashed across my view behind and I saw him slide off. I'm sure I didn't brake any earlier but it looks like Paul did the gentlemanly thing when he saw my gearbox looming and sacrificed himself to avoid contact. After that it was a steady run to the flag. Amazingly I'm shown as leading the Championship now, eventhough I missed the first round, so no car advantage at the next race then!!
