Actually I would not mind seeing a replay of "the incident" at the start as it came as a total surprise when I was launched into the tree line!!
I'm not sure if I was involved at the beginning, middle or end of the whole episode as I quit without saving a replay. I was being very careful to keep "out of trouble" down to T1 with a cautious start ( unlike me I know...won't make THAT mistake again!!), hoping to drag myself back up through the field with the awesome power of the Wazamobile and a little slipstreaming.
Just goes to show...absolutely no point in planning anything!!! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Obviously drivers are overwhelmingly in favor of a re-run, so next tuesday, 17.02.2009 at the same time, we will try again. New race date in the first post.

Before being booted from the server I managed to watch the replay from a couple of viewpoints - TBH I think the initial contact was an honest mistake which was then magnified by a good old fashioned lag kick to the 2 cars that hit (who-ever was the front left car moved across to the right as the track narrowed, there was someone (who was presumably) in their blindspot who they contacted with.
I had time to slam on the brakes as this unfolded in front of me but still hit one of the cars as it slid across the road, not too sure what happened behind me but I think someone may have rear ended me as I span and the original crashers claimed most of the rest of the field  Smiley
I remember Hristo was one of the people arguing after Qually and he was way behind me at the start - either a bad launch , lack of power, or keeping back to be safe (didn't work eh  Wink) so the chat can be removed from the equation as a possible cause  Smiley

Just a quick note to say I'm not going to make the re-run, or any race in the near future for that matter. I just killed my main gaming PC this evening. I haven't got time to relay the whole sorry tale but it's either processor, motherboard or both. The moral of the story is don't take things to bits if you don't know what you're doing!!! I was only trying to give it a good clean out, and found the heatsink fins well clogged. I think you can probably guess the rest?!!

Sorry to hear that Ken.

The pressure washer wasn't the right approach then?

He he, yes, it might be OK in a week or so when it's dried out! Smiley

Next time be more careful and use the proper method ... you know water and computers don't mix.... so, use a blowlamp and wire brush! Grin Grin

Bad luck Ken, UKGPL seem to have had a run of PC accidents recently.  I hope you can get going again in time for the new season.

Sorry Hristo,
I was in two minds whether to overtake into Lesmo 1 and had decided against it which is why I ducked in behind you. But then I must have missed my brake point. I tried to pull out again but it was too late and I clipped you.

All my mistake.

Yeah I figured that, Paul. After that the engine lost power, so I dropped to 6th. Will have to wait and see what's the points situation as Tim finished ahead. Fun battle prior to the incident though.

If I've remembered the finishing positions correctly then you've finished 26 points ahead of me Hristo  cursing
I make it 266 Vs my 240  thumbup1

Well done Hristo Smiley

And thank you to everyone else I've raced, the 66's have been more of a learning curve for me as I hadn't used the mod prior to joining UKGPL.
It's deffinatly fair to say that I'm better in the <2.7's than the 3's, so thank you for your patience while i got to grips with those! ( Embarrassed ) Especially anyone I may have hit due to mistakes on my part earlier in the season ninja

Anyway, this race is probably the most intense race I've had online ever. I forget how many people I passed and was passed by, but I do remember being terrified all the way through the early part of the race that I was either going to rear-end someone or that I'd be caught in an accident from ahead in the field.
Luckilly for me neither materialised, and all was looking good for a scrap for 3rd to the end with Clive Loynes. Until I managed to loose my rear end braking for Parabolica behind him.  Sad Big shame as it looked like our running battle was managing to bring us closer to the 2 leaders so we may have ended up with a 4 way battle for 1st had I not spun.
Nevermind....
Bernie managed to worry me for a bit until he got something wrong at Parabolica some 3 laps from the flag (phew!), I then just had to ensure I finished  Roll Eyes

A good first season - I look forward to the next.
Thank you guys!  angel

Thank you guys!

Bernie got smacked into last place on lap 1 then spent most of the race laps playing catchup  Roll Eyes

about 6 to go I managed to haul steve in and once I got the tow i could gain a place or two .

I caught Tim with 3 to go but outbraked myself going into Parabolliker trying too hard to get into his slipstream , then having nothing to lose on the last lap I tried a do or die attempt at the same place with the inevitable result .

Quite pleased with the finish however a pity I lost the "pack" early on , it could have been a great race .

Nice one to end the year with all the same   Cheesy

Ah, I was worried that as you were getting so close it may have been something to do with me - Glad it wasn't  Cheesy
