Consider your car to have a great big marked target on the paintwork. Tongue

Paul, just so you know, it's 3L cars, so your beloved 312 won't be excluded this time. Smiley

Although I'll do my best to exclude it from the top step of the podium.  Cheesy

Absolutely disgusted with myself, spun on L1 at the Hairpin ( over gassed it on the exit) and then caught someone as I spun it back round ( Fulvio ?? ) Whoever it was, sorry and I hope it didn't ruin your race. My own car caught fire, sort of Restorative Justice !!

Qualified 3rd on the grid somehow, and was doing OK. I had Hristo several seconds in front after the first 6 or 7 laps when Mike fluffed it on the exit of the hairpin to let me through, and Ken breathing down my neck after that meant I couldn't concentrate! He passed on the main straight and the following lap we came up to lap Bookie. Ken got through OK, Bookie slowed down on the exit of the esses and I got past, but the FF kicked in and I drifted straight back into him. Upside down on the side of the track ain't the way to continue. Gutted, as I had a real chance for a genuine podium!

That was a tough race, but luck was on my side as Mike's challenge was over on the very first lap. Even that didn't happen, I'm not sure I could've kept him behind for long as the car had ill-handling on more fuel.

Qualifying was intense and it took me the whole length of the session to come up with a better setup and do a good lap. Both myself and Mike had a good start and ran towards T1 side by side, but he was more cautious and eased off a bit earlier. He didn't let the gap grow though and was keeping up as we approached the hairpin.

Just as I was starting to plan how I would fend him off on the laps that were to come, he spun on the exit of the hairpin and dropped down the grid, then retired for some reason. Jethro immediately took over though.

He was soon up to speed and the gap I built in the first lap was saving me from giving Jethro a tow, but the distance remained the same for quite a few laps. I had to battle constant snap oversteer on exits and understeer on entry, sometimes avoiding a spin by luck.

As the fuel load started coming down the handling improved and I could push more, thus increasing the gap back to Jethro, who was now busy keeping off a charging Ken.

In  the meantime I was focusing on consistency and it worked quite well much to my surprise. Around mid-distance Ken managed to pass Jethro who soon retired and elected Tim and Evil up. I thought SHE must be very pleased now!

With a few laps remaining I was improving on my qualifying lap best sector times and tried to go for a fastest lap. On one of these Steve let me through by easing off on the exit of T2, but I carried way too much speed, went too wide over the grass and spun while refusing to lift up the throttle. Steve missed me narrowly (more luck!), so I was able to bring it home, despite the broken string of consistency.

Grats to Ken, Evil and Tim for completing the top 4!

ALL MY VICTORIES ARE BELONG TO HER!!!

Worst track, worst preparation, worst engine and worst set up I've prepared, but 6th isn't the worst result this season so I won't complain!  Had a good dice with Syd Drake towards end of race but this ended at T1 on 2nd to last lap when we banged wheels too hard and they fell off!

Congrats to Hristo and rest of podium.

Well, I wasn't expecting 5th, but people in front of me insisted in throwing themselves on their swords, even Hristo at one point spinning as he described above.  That woke me up!  Shocked

I lucked in when Dave and Syd had a coming together on the penultimate lap.  I had managed to close up at one stage to them but got complacent mid-race and let them escape significantly up the road.

Cheers all.

Mike np, I remember someone spinning at hairpin, but I didn't got damage. I only lost momentum and a BRM passed me. Then I had Paul on my tail that outbraked me at Peralta. I followed his fast Ferrari on the straight but at T1 he braked earlier than me and it seems to me to have slightly rear ended him so I let him by after T1, but shortly after he parked the car aside, engine Paul??
Later I got disco while I was following Evil that had some problem to keep it in a straight line, but he was very fast on the straight.
It was the first disco since ages, oh well, next one.
Ciao
