Grats to the podium & the two last survivors Pelle had his usual dragster start, but since I had the inside there was no way for him to go by. Tristan was on the outside, and I lost grip and slid in front of him at Madgwick Corner, was a bit hesistant picking up the throttle, but Tristan and Pelle did a great job not running into me. That was the closest of starts and T1 you can get. Very exciting actually.
Yes RF....this was a horror of the best I tried everything to get past - little grass, pressure & more - 2xCooper was too much & the track is not wide enough...but wildly exciting, damn good race. Of course - after I froze - I downloaded server replay to see the situation again, but...freezes again exactly the same place as in the race. First car view & afterwards on TV1. Too bad...but perhaps a fitting way to end th

I quite like this track but only raced here once before, in a 65 Honda (which would probably put a present day Mclaren to shame ), so a new experience in the full fat machines. I wasn't able to trouble the top guys, even with my car advantage and at the start fell back a bit with Mr Muttram right on mt tail! He was probably relieved when I got my braking wrong at the end of the back straight, as I'm sure I was holding him up. That was my biggest issue though and quite a few laps later I was chasing him after I assume he had a few moments. Not sure I could've mounted a serious challenge but with 5 to go I was disco'd. I've been having massive issues with Win7 crashing to blue screen and am contemplating the free upgrade to Win10, anyone running that with GPL? But this time it was only GPL that crashed. I also had another disco during qual, so assume it's a track issue. Thanks to the guys for running the event, I enjoyed it. Good to have you racing with us Malcolm. Cheers, Bob.

I think Billy produced a great series for the JSM this year. His format gave us full grids and closely contested racing, with Robert setting the pace out front and securing the trophy for a second year. The rest of us had some superb racing around iconic British tracks with many closely fought battles, a fitting tribute for Joe. Thanks to everyone who supported this series right down to the last laps of the final race. Like Billy and many others I felt honoured to share the tracks with Malcolm. But I think it was extremely brave of Malcolm to make his GPL debut in such fast company and in the 67's which are the original and the hardest to master. I would agree with Billy and I'm sure just about everyone else who has raced in GPL..it sure ain't easy to begin with the 67's!!. I'm sure you will enjoy the 65's Malcolm, they are pure fun to drive and don't bite you in the a** backside like the 67's. See you at Goodwood Malcolm.

It's a well known track issue Bob - Infact I had my first offline lock up while practising for the race so was actually quite surprised to make it to the end. Even more surprised that I managed to win after the Disco's up front! Bob got me mildly worried at one point towards the end as due to some mistakes on my part I dropped back, that plus the overheated tires meant I was pretty sure he was still slowly reeling me in which left me with very little margin for error. While it's not my preferred method for winning races his screen freeze did at least take some pressure off for me! Thankyou to everyone who raced in the series - Such decently sized grids and levels of racing certainly did Joe's memory a great service. Oh, and regarding slip angle I'll leave this here for Dean, 90 degrees is fine - you can go much further https://youtu.be/Cr2Y1PLFw4Y

Totally agree, it was a great series and thank you Billy and everyone who joined in. Had a go with a 65 Brabham BT11 around Goodwood and was consistently lapping as fast as I managed in the BT24 on maybe one lap! Still got to find 5 seconds to get near to what Tim Muttram and Joe were doing in the "Mods vs Rockers Fun Race" from Goodwood in 2010 ( I think). My favorite Race, real world or virtual of all time

I'm really quite embarrassed to have forgotten the 2 abreast through the chicane moment we had, that was a true mark of Joe's ability that we pulled it off and left one another enough room. It makes me realise I have some practice to be doing as I don't think I'm quite at that level any more!

I hope I can somewhere near that level one day

Congratulations Robert, you set a very high benchmark for the rest of us to aim for. A fitting performance to remember Joe . and another name plate on the trophy!!! You are going to have to come and collect it from Malcolm at Goodwood sometime!!! Huge thanks to all of those who filled the grids and made this series such a success.

Hi all It's Goodwood Revival time again and we are heading off tomorrow to get setup for this years fundraising efforts. This year it's in support of the RAF Benevolent Fund a worthy cause indeed. Come and find us at the RBF airstream on the outside of the track not far from the Goodwood shop and the pedestrian tunnel to the paddock area. We are running our charity vintage sweet stall again this year and have some exclusive Goodwood Revival Rock on offer Joes sister Amelia is coming down on the Saturday and Sunday this year and we are bringing the JSMT Trophy too so would love to see any GPLers as we can and raise a glass or too in the process. Best regards and hope to see you all at some point soon M
