Nice job, Dean! Man! Seems to me that you pulled a rabbit out of the hat! I was watching you in qualifying and to say that you were having trouble keeping it on the road and matching my lap time would be like saying that Will Ferrel is funny. Not hardly. That it came good for you in the race is just about exactly the opposite side of the coin with a smooth and very rapid drive. Even if I hadn't bungled T1 on Lap01, there's no way I could have threatened you let alone challenge. So again, nice drive.
Bad luck and misfortune for losing Axel to not being up to par and Tris to, well, I don't know what as it seemed he just pitted and retired.
My P2 placing was a remarkable fluke and entirely unexpected/undeserved after my early gaffe. Only after great battles with Ray and David did I luck in for the placing. I must say that those wretched gutters are a nightmare! I had a wild tank-slapper to my credit at one point and only by the grace of the gods did I manage to save it. Late in the going, I got rather fatigued and coasted in with a small margin over the scrapping pair of Jani and Ray. Grats on P3, JP!
While I quite enjoy the layout of Killarney, I found the standard textures...mips and srbs...wholly unsatisfactory and a real blitz on my eyeballs. I swapped out many of the textures...asphalt, horizon, sky, gutters, etc...to allow me to at least distinguish where I was going. After the race, I killed off those shrubs/bushes down in and on the exit of T1. Much better now.
