Congrats Tim and Axel!
The 2F appears to be an outstanding car for this track. The only car I can drive further into the turns is the Porsche. Nothing in the mod compares to the way it goes into Holowell and holds the track through Stavelot. The bricks on the edge of the track don't have much effect on the Chaparral's grip like a lot of the other cars. I guess it's downforce. It also seems very sedate considering what a wild track this is. It might be easier to drive here than the Porsche.
I forgot to save my race replay. I did save my qualifying lap though.
After an early screw up, clipping the post, everything went fairly smooth. It was a good exercise in consistency. It's a shame everybody but Axel went off in front of me. You guys didn't buy Axel much time. It looks like the one click I used on the differential for the race lost me a second in lap time. I didn't think my qualifying gearing would last a race. I doubt it would have made it through qualifying on Pro damage. I think my race gearing would have been too short on Pro damage too.
If this weren't the first GT season I've run online, I might have used a slower car. I planned my schedule before the season to score the most points for my tokens. If I run another season in these cars I'll try to use cars that keep me close to the other cars. Another good idea for me would have been to use 5 less tokens per race versus the Privateers.
The Porsche should be good at Nurburgring and Brands Hatch. And I think the Ferrari and Lola will be good at Bathurst and Interlagos. The 2F is always good if you can set it up and have the tokens.
Thanks guys. I hope Clive, Sam, and Tristan make it next time.
