The 1967 Formula 1 championship is intended to provide the ultimate challenge for the most accomplished drivers in the league using the original 1967 car set. Whilst drivers of all abilities are welcome it is expected that entrants will be reasonably adept at handling the more forgiving 65 cars before attempting to master the 1967 brutes. All rounds will count towards the final championship position.
This championship is for the faster "Senior" drivers. The races will be run under "Pro" rules and consequently no resets are allowed.
This season we will be running a joint championship with GPL Brazil. To preserve the character of both leagues (and to ensure the race results can be loaded onto both the UKGPL and the GPL Brazil web sites with the minimum of fuss) we will not be using the token system that has been used with the 67F1 cars at UKGPL for the past few seasons. Rather we will use a simple rule that encourages the use of all the chassis without the complexity of the token system. The simple rule is:
"Each chassis should be used at least once and no chassis can be used more than twice."
Drivers will have a FREE CHOICE of chassis however, a bonus of 50 championship points will awarded to each driver that uses all 7 chassis. A bonus point will be awarded for pole position. A bonus point will be awarded for the fastest lap. Any driver who uses the same chassis more than twice will not be awarded any bonus points. It is not necessary to use 7 different chassis for the first 7 races. However at the end of the season, all 7 chassis must have been used to qualify for the bonus points.
Points will be allocated from 1st to 12th as follows: 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Drivers must complete 75% race distance to score. All rounds count towards the driver's championship. For each race, only the top two drivers from each team count towards team championship. All rounds count towards team championship.
Note: We are using the 60fps patch (60fpsV2NewMod) this season
Moderators: Billy Nobrakes, Dave Curtis, JonnyO, Enrique Farina and David Sochenna. Overview: The Pro damage model will be used. Race Length: 50 minutes. Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents do carry an extra 1 place penalty. Only reported incidents will be moderated.
The 1.3 Release of the 67mod can be used.
