This season we are introducing a third 65 division, Intermediates, which is intended to cater for those who have progressed beyond the Novice division but don't yet feel ready to jump up to Pro's. The running of this division is subject to enough entrants and a reasonably even spread between all three 65 divisions. Intermediates will use the same tracks as Novices but will only be allowed ONE Shift-R. The final championship positions will be determined after each driver has discarded their worst two results.
The moderator will assign drivers to a chassis group at the start of the season based on their ability. The fastest drivers will have their choice restricted to the the slower cars. Drivers will have free choice of chassis from their assigned groups. Reserve drivers will also be assigned a chassis group. If a reserve driver is allocated a grid slot they will have to use one of their allowed chassis, not necessarily the one used by the driver who dropped out.
The cars are split into five chassis groups. Drivers assigned to group 1 may use any car from that group. Drivers assigned to group 2 may use any chassis from that group and so on. Driver assignments may change during the course of the season at the moderator's discretion.
NOTE: If attendences in any of the three 65 divisions drop to unviable levels the Intermediate division may merge with one of the others. The championship will continue but they will race according to the rules/tracks of the division they have joined.
