The Alfa vs Porsche Cup will feature the Alfa Romeo T33 and Porsche 910 from the 1967 Sports Cars Extra mod. The championship will be run over 10 rounds, each driver will be expected to drive each car an equal number of times. In effect the Alfa Romeo T33 shall be driven no more than 5 times and the Porsche 910 shall be driven no more than 5 times.
Drivers of all abilities are welcome but the faster drivers will be placed in the "Works" category with the remaining drivers placed in the "Privateer" category. The final championship positions will be determined after each driver has discarded their worst two results.
In order to add an element of realism, and to hopefully reduce the possibility of rear-end incidents, the brake light patch will be used (see this
post by Lee Bowden).
Works drivers will carry a weight penalty in the form of extra fuel. Works drivers will need to fuel the car to ensure there is always an additional 10 gallons (~40 litres) in the tank at all the times. For example if the expected fuel consumption for the race is 12 gallons, then a works driver should start the race with 22 gallons in the tank. There will be a level of honesty required from the drivers. After the race, the drivers need to declare in the GPL chat window how much fuel they have remaining. The chat is recorded by the server for checking by the moderator after the race.
Three long tracks and seven short tracks will be used. For the long tracks, unlimited resets will be allowed and for the short tracks, a maximum of two resets will be allowed. There will be no need to do a Stop & Go in the pit lane after a reset.
